Maintain record of all parent communication., • Monitor health logs and accident/incident reports to be utilized for risk management assessment., • Monitor and evaluate camp procedures, facilities and conditions., • Perform other duties as assigned and/or reassigned as directed/required by the Medical Director., • Ensure each staff member and camper has a health history and physical examination form on file., • Provide lists to the office of missing information from health histories for camp staff to use during check in procedures., • Check in camper and staff medication upon arrival as per New York State Department of Health procedures., • Support the camp leadership to maintain a safe working environment., • Be familiar and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard., • Must be 18 years of age., • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification required., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification as accepted by the local health department (re-certification can be provided by camp)., • Must provide proof of eligibility for employment prior to the first day of work., • Ability to interact with all age levels., • Understanding of the medical needs of children and young adults in an outdoor/recreational environment., • Demonstrated ability and experience working in an outdoor/recreational environment., • Demonstrated ability to update and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement a health care plan., • Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner., • Ability to communicate, work with, and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff., • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity., • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers., • Requires prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, climbing, and stretching., • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., • Requires daily exposure to the sun, heat, and bugs.
