Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Night Shift) • Location: Watertown NY 13601, • Duration: 13-week Contract, • Shift: 12-hour Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department setting. The RN assesses plans implements and evaluates the care of patients across all age groups. The role requires excellent critical thinking communication and leadership skills to deliver safe and effective emergency care in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the Emergency Department., • Perform triage prioritize patient care and initiate appropriate interventions based on patient condition., • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures., • Collaborate with physicians healthcare team members and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated patient care., • Recognize and respond appropriately to life-threatening emergencies., • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using MEDITECH electronic health records system., • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed demonstrating leadership and effective delegation skills., • Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols., • License: Current and active New York State RN license (Required)., • Certifications:, • BLS (Basic Life Support) Required, • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required, • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer, • Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing., • Experience:, • Previous Emergency Department or Critical Care experience required., • Travel RN experience required., • MEDITECH experience required., • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills., • Ability to function effectively under stressful situations., • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities., • Strong leadership and prioritization skills., • Effective interpersonal organizational and communication skills both verbal and written.
