Job DescriptionJob Title: Material Handler Job Description We are seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time position responsible for performing the shipping functions for freight and materials. Accurate record maintenance related to receipts and returns of inventory is crucial for the smooth flow of production. Your performance will impact inventory, accounts payable, and company profits by ensuring materials are delivered to the correct areas, preventing production interruptions. Safe and efficient operation of a forklift is required, along with discipline and a positive attitude. Responsibilities • Deliver materials to appropriate work center drop zones, departments, or personnel., • Pull carts prior to truck build., • Return parts from carts that have passed through the QC bay back into inventory., • Process yellow tags and investigate/resolve inventory discrepancies., • Handle medium to heavy weights, operate fork trucks, hand trucks, and other equipment in the receiving area., • Assist in shipping, warehouse, or storage locations as required., • Assist with annual physical inventory., • Schedule LTL shipments for outbound materials., • Manage outgoing UPS shipments., • Respond to flags on the shop floor., • Perform back-up duties for all shipping activities (UPS, LTL, and Full Load) including data entry., • Ability to improve warehouse and receiving processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency., • Technological skills with knowledge of operation’s manufacturing software and Microsoft products, including Excel and Word in Windows environment., • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and follow-up skills., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong team player., • Ability to operate forklifts, hand carts, and other equipment as needed to perform job duties., • Maintain an orderly appearance in the area through the 5-S system. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
