Job DescriptionSalary: Range: $19.00-$21.00 Pivot, a not-for-profit agency dedicated to improving the health of youth and families across the lifespan in our community through prevention, education, counseling and advocacy in conjunction with Anchor Recovery Center of NNY, a peer-to-peer support service designed to assist people with a substance use disorders gain free recovery support, is seeking a full-time Recovery Coach to partner with members seeking recovery access systems needed to support recovery. Recovery Coaching is a form of strength-based supports for persons in or seeking recovery from alcohol and other drugs, and other addictions. Like life and business coaching, Recovery Coaching (also known as peer mentoring) is a type of partnership where the person in or seeking recovery self directs his/her recovery while the coach provides expertise in supporting successful change. Recovery Coaching focuses on achieving any goals important to the individual. Recovery Coaching focuses on honoring values and making principle-based decisions, creating a clear plan of action, and using current strengths to reach future goals. Requirements: • High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency., • 46 hours specific to the domain, with 10 hours in each domain of advocacy, mentoring/education, and recovery/wellness support and 16 hours in the domain of ethics., • 500 hours of volunteer or paid work experience specific to the PR domains., • 25 hours of supervision specific to the PR domains. Supervision must be provided by an organizations documented and qualified supervisory staff per job description., • Pass the NYCH/IHC/RC Peer Recovery Computer-Based Exam. This is a 70-hour, bi-weekly position.
