Job Description Job Title: Catering Operations & Sales Manager Base Salary plus Commission Position Summary: The Catering Operations & Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through event sales while ensuring seamless execution of all catering functions. This role oversees the full lifecycle of events—from initial client engagement and contract negotiation to operational planning and on-site coordination—delivering exceptional guest experiences and maximizing profitability. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building within the local market, • Manage inbound inquiries, conduct site tours, and develop customized event proposals, • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service details to close sales and meet revenue targets, • Maintain and grow relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and repeat guests, • Track sales activity, forecast revenue, and report on performance metrics Event Planning & Coordination • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process, • Coordinate all event details including menus, timelines, floor plans, and special requests, • Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution, • Oversee event logistics from setup through breakdown, ensuring quality standards are met, • Anticipate client needs and resolve issues proactively to ensure a seamless experience Operations Management • Supervise catering staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management, • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, • Manage inventory, rentals, and vendor relationships to support event execution, • Monitor labor and cost controls to maximize efficiency and profitability, • Maintain high standards of presentation, service, and overall event quality Financial & Administrative Oversight • Develop and manage catering budgets, pricing strategies, and cost controls, • Review contracts, invoices, and billing to ensure accuracy and timely processing, • Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to improve margins, • Maintain organized records of events, client communications, and operational procedures Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in catering sales, event management, or hospitality operations, • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals, • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities, • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills, • Experience with event management and CRM software (e.g., Tripleseat, Caterease, or similar), • Knowledge of food & beverage operations, banquet service, and event logistics, • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Core Competencies: • Sales & Negotiation, • Event Execution & Attention to Detail, • Team Leadership & Staff Development, • Customer Service Excellence, • Financial Acumen & Cost Control, • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making This role is ideal for a driven hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering memorable events while growing business opportunities.
