Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. Position Summary Regis seeks a qualified candidate to join its staff as Director of Information Technology. This is a full-time position. Position comes with full benefits. Work hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends for special school events. Salary is competitive for the New York City area and is commensurate with experience. Job Responsibilities Strategy & Planning: • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the school’s academic and operational needs., • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve user experience and boost productivity., • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or new solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency., • Lead the strategic incorporation of artificial intelligence into the school’s educational initiatives and non-academic, operational workflows., • Develop and implement IT Policies and best practice guidelines for the school. Operations & User Support: • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of IT-related hardware, software, and systems., • Manage IT staffing, including hiring, training, guidance, and performance management., • Develop the annual IT and capital expenditure budgets and manage all technology-related spending for the entire school. Coordinate with vendors and oversee project execution to ensure value and return on investment., • Ensure help desk support, ticketing and issue resolution, exceed user expectations. Security & Compliance: • Coordinate regular security monitoring and auditing to identify possible security issues and protect against cyber threats., • Collaborate with academic and operations leadership to ensure data privacy and security compliance based on regulatory standards., • Set policies and enforce best practices in application and systems support, security protocols, and performance metrics., • Oversee risk management and disaster recovery planning. Serve as the risk owner for all technology-related risk profiles outlined in the school’s Enterprise Risk Management framework and ensure that action plans are executed on schedule., • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices., • Evaluate external advancements in the IT industry to improve user satisfaction and reduce operating expenses. Vendor Management: • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourced contractor, and consultant contracts and service agreements, ensuring successful execution of projects and realization of return on investment., • Coordinate with external providers for internet service, cloud hosting, and other outsourced technology needs., • Establish partnerships and alliances with IT vendors. Project Management: • Lead all IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services., • Establish foundational project management and change management methods for effective project execution., • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs for IT services. Team Leadership: • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in the IT team., • Mentor and develop IT team members, including identifying and facilitating opportunities for professional development., • Cultivate collaboration and open communication within the team to maximize results. Communication: • Liaise with other departments to facilitate inter-departmental collaboration., • Keep VP of Administration & Finance (VPAF) current on IT performance, risks, and opportunities., • Facilitate appropriate cross-functional IT planning in collaboration with school leaders to: o Assess current technology service and discuss possible remedies where needed. o Ensure department-specific software and database applications work according to school policy and procedures. o Approve the selection of programs to be used on network devices in consultation with users. o Investigate new software and hardware technologies to meet departmental and schoolwide goals. Training: • Coordinate technology training for employees, students, and parents when appropriate, including school IT policy and procedures and legal licensing of software., • Work closely with the Educational Technology Committee to support the faculty’s technological development., • Maintain professional working relationships with the IT Directors at the other Jesuit schools nationwide, and other local independent schools to determine areas of cooperation and collaboration., • Attend JSN and NYSAIS IT workshops and other appropriate conferences. Other: • Other duties as assigned by the (VPAF). Qualifications & Skills • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, personal drive, and ability to see projects through to execution. A demonstrated eagerness to learn and explore., • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail., • Strong understanding of IT operations including support desk, desktop and server support, networking, network security, and data integrity., • Ability to provide hands-on oversight of progress on projects and services to ensure timely execution., • Work within existing technical architecture and with other teammates to implement solutions within existing standards, including FERPA, and related organizational IT architecture and security policies., • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Must be comfortable communicating by phone, in person, and when addressing large groups., • Strong ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels including, but not limited to, school leadership, faculty and staff, parents, students, and donors., • A high degree of patience and kindness while working with individuals in and out of the school daily., • A high degree of integrity, and excellent moral character., • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as crawl, twist, bend, turn, and reach in order to complete a variety of job duties. Education • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science plus five years of experience in network administration or equivalent work experience. Master’s Degree a plus., • Management or leadership experience. Status This is a full-time, 12-month position. Compensation & Benefits Salary range is $145,000-$155,000, commensurate with years of experience. Most benefits go into effect immediately. Participation in the 403 (b) begins after one year of employment.
