Job Description Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist to the Consultation/Liaison Unit at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The Behavioral Health Center offers a comprehensive suite of services for mental health including First Episode Psychosis program, medical services, opioid treatment, substance use disorders services, a specialized unit for people with Intellectually Disability, an inpatient Extended care unit focusing on the needs of our homeless patients and prevent recidivism, ketamine assisted therapy, and inpatient and outpatient services for adults and children. URAM provides the healthcare services from the Federally Qualified Health Center located in the heart of Harlem. We provide Primary Care, Specialty Care, Dental Care and Wellness Care to those seeking diagnosis and treatment. All employees of URAM are responsible to perform their job practicing good risk management, quality assurance, and delivering excellent internal and external customer service. Under the supervision of the Medical Director and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Internal Medicine Physician delivers high quality comprehensive primary care for homeless, underserved, chronically ill populations including HIV, Hepatitis C, SUD, Diabetes, Heart Disease and other comorbidities. These units are supported by CAMBA, providing services to chronically homeless single adults and families where the head of households are diagnosed with chronic health conditions. The remaining 129 units are occupied by community residents, who may require some services. CAMBA provides on-site case management and supportive services in addition to 24-hour security. Job Description JOB TITLE: Safety Security Officer FLSA: Non-Exempt DIVISON: Services – Security REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor LOCATION: Manhattan, NY SALARY: $19.25 PER HOUR SUMMARY: The Safety Security Officer/Residential Aide is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all client’s, staff, and the property around the facility in a 140 bed men’s homeless shelter. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager of the Facility. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform daily inspections of all clients’ rooms, • Escort clients to appointments as needed, • Interact with and monitor client’s behavior and maintain good rapport by providing excellent customer service. Encourage clients to comply with facility policy and procedures., • Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients, and visitors, utilizing magnetometer / x-ray machine to detect and prevent weapons from entering the site., • Perform Crisis Intervene to de-escalate potential crisis situations and document all such situations and interventions., • Make hourly rounds throughout entire facility including all hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and office spaces., • Respond to incidents, • Assist with client intakes, • Perform daily pack ups and logging of client property belonging to AWOL clients, • Store and remove client property once the mandated storage time have expired, • Maintain a clean and organized storage area, • Complete logs, incident reports and all other required documentation., • Make calls to police, fire department and other first responders as directed., • Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations desk; monitor video surveillance cameras, and fire prevention / detection alarm notification system., • Provide duties related to fire incident, evacuation of the building when necessary, utilizing Fire procedure., • Ensure the safety and security of all assigned equipment. High school diploma or GED and prior security experience required. Must have NYS Security Guard License, current 8 Hour Annual Certificate and Fire Guard License for Shelters (F-02). Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred. Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime if necessary. They will perform and assist in all tasks related to veterinary medicine, both technical and administrative, for shelter and community animals. This is a full-time position with a salary of $30/hr - $34/hr. Responsibilities: Licensed Veterinary Technician Responsibilities • Proficiency in proper animal restraint., • Ability to draw blood and place catheters (jugular and femoral catheterization a plus)., • Experienced or educated in laboratory procedures such as proper blood and specimen handling, reading of fecal assays and urinalysis., • Familiar with radiographic technique and positioning; and sending radiographs for review., • Administration of intravenous drugs and anesthetic agents, including understanding of the basic mechanics of an anesthesia machine., • Monitoring of all patients and able to identify medical emergencies., • Proficiency in aseptic technique, including cleaning, sterilizing and packing of surgical instruments, drapes and gowns., • Ability to assist in surgery at the discretion of the veterinarian., • Maintain cleanliness in the kennel, prep room and surgery areas; stocking as needed., • Controlled drug log recording., • Educate foster parents on giving medication and proper feeding., • Basic understanding or the ability to learn veterinary software programs. Shelter and Surgery Responsibilities • Generate and perform all tasks on daily Shelter Medicine task list., • Assist and perform anesthesia protocols in all daily surgeries; including premeds, induction, maintenance and recovery of anesthesia., • Monitor shelter animals medical check list daily and perform task list., • Maintain shelter software records; ascertain records are accurate and ready for animals’ adoption, • Perform and help Veterinarian with foster appointments., • Train and delegate to vet assistants and Adoption Center Animal Care staff with regards to surgical and medical aspects of shelter animals., • Help train Veterinary Assistants in shelter software, specifically vaccine entry, making up prescriptions, patient weight entries and treatments., • Oversee the proper filling of prescriptions by the Veterinary Assistants, • Counsel adopters or fosters with regards to medication administration., • Care for hospitalized medical or post-surgery cases according to Veterinarian orders., • Perform cat intakes Qualifications • Experienced in shelter medicine and spay-neuter surgery, • 5+ years of experience preferred, • NYS license required Specific Work Requirements • Ability to restrain animals of all sizes, work with blood and feces Preferences • Skilled, organized, detail-oriented and can work well in a team.
