Job Description Job Title: Saw Operator Job Description The Sawyer is responsible for operating saw equipment to cut lumber or wood materials to specified dimensions while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards. This role supports production by ensuring materials are cut correctly and efficiently to meet order and build requirements. This position is a full-time role with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and Friday from 7 AM to 1 PM, totaling 46-50 hours per week. Responsibilities • Operate saws (table saw, band saw, radial arm saw, or automated saws) to cut lumber per work orders or blueprints., • Measure, mark, and verify cuts to ensure accuracy and quality., • Read and follow cut lists, drawings, or production instructions., • Inspect lumber for defects and report quality issues., • Stack, label, and organize cut materials for the next production step., • Perform basic machine setup and adjustments., • Maintain a clean and safe work area., • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout when applicable., • Experience in saw operation, hand tools, power tools, drill press, grinding, and saw cutting., • Mechanical aptitude and experience with bandsaw operation., • Ability to read blueprints or cut lists., • High school diploma or GED preferred., • 1+ year of experience operating saws in a lumber, woodshop, or manufacturing environment preferred., • Ability to read a tape measure accurately (1/16" preferred)., • Forklift experience is a plus., • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing or lumber yard setting with exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection are required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairless Hills, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
