Job Description Position Title: Plant Manager, Bakersfield Pay Range: $130,000-$145,000 annual What You’ll Do As Plant Manager, you will serve as the senior leader of our Bakersfield manufacturing facility, with full ownership of operational performance, financial results, and cultural leadership. This is a true business leadership role — not simply operations oversight. You will translate strategy into execution, build organizational capability, and ensure the plant delivers exceptional performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and People. You will create a high-performance environment where accountability, continuous improvement, and strong leadership drive sustainable results. This position reports to the Director of Operations. In this role, you will: • Own full plant P&L performance, delivering EBITDA, cost, and working capital commitments, • Develop and execute the annual operating plan and multi-year strategic roadmap, • Lead capital strategy, including investment planning, justification, and ROI realization, • Drive operational excellence across key metrics, including TRIR/DART, OEE, First Pass Yield, On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, labor productivity, and scrap/rework, • Champion Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and structured continuous improvement systems, • Establish disciplined daily management processes, including Tier meetings and KPI accountability, • Improve throughput, flow, and lead-time performance through bottleneck removal and process optimization, • Align production capacity with demand forecasts through effective S&OP integration and long-range planning, • Lead footprint optimization, layout improvements, automation initiatives, and digital transformation efforts, • Strengthen supply chain alignment to ensure material availability, supplier reliability, and inventory health, • Maintain ERP data integrity and planning governance to support operational and financial accuracy, • Lead change initiatives across processes, systems, and organizational structure, • Build and sustain a high-performance culture aligned with Johnson Screens’ True North behaviors, • Recruit, develop, and retain top operational talent while building strong succession pipelines, • Coach and develop leaders at all levels to strengthen bench depth and long-term capability, • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, HR, Sales, and Finance to drive enterprise-wide results What You Bring Education • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field required, • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, • 5+ years leading at the plant level with full operational accountability, • Proven P&L ownership and ability to deliver financial results, • Demonstrated success leading Lean / Continuous Improvement transformations, • Experience in fabrication, machining, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments, • Strong ERP experience (SAP preferred), • Multi-site leadership exposure preferred, • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute at a tactical level, • Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making capability, • Decisive, resilient leader who performs under pressure, • Change agent with the ability to influence and align diverse teams, • Talent developer who builds strong, accountable leadership teams, • High emotional intelligence and effective communication skills, • Systems thinker with an enterprise mindset, • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred Why Johnson Screens is a Great Place to Work: At Johnson Screens, we value open-mindedness, competence, collaboration, and integrity.
