Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel RN – ICU (Critical Care) Location: Bakersfield, CA Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift:Nights Job Summary: Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a high-acuity assignment in Bakersfield, CA. The RN will independently manage critically ill patients, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in accordance with California nursing standards. Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive critical care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, • Monitor and manage acutely ill patients with rapidly changing conditions, • Interpret clinical data and respond to physiological and psychosocial changes, • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, • Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage life-support equipment, • Respond to emergencies and initiate appropriate protocols, • Perform accurate and timely documentation per hospital standards, • Ensure compliance with infection control, medication safety, and regulatory requirements, • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes, • Participate in quality improvement, staff meetings, and ongoing education Core Competencies: • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills, • Ability to manage high-acuity ICU patients independently, • Effective communication and team collaboration, • Knowledge of advanced nursing practices, equipment, and pharmacology Requirements: • Active California RN License (Unrestricted), • Minimum 3 years of ICU or critical care experience, • NIHSS Certification required, • BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required, • Strong knowledge of critical care medications, drips, and interventions Additional Details: • Practice aligned with ANA Scope & Standards and CA Nurse Practice Act, • High-acuity, fast-paced ICU environment, • Ongoing competency and education requirements per facility Ideal Candidate: A confident ICU RN with strong clinical expertise, the ability to manage complex patient scenarios, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a demanding acute care setting.
