Key Responsibilities for Dean of Students Jobs • Promote a supportive and inclusive school environment by leading efforts to ensure all students experience a sense of belonging and high expectations., • Develop and implement proactive behavior support systems, policies, and restorative practices that align with the school’s mission and values., • Guide students in academic, social, and emotional growth through mentorship, targeted interventions, and individualized support plans., • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to address student needs and resolve challenges with empathy and effectiveness., • Lead school-wide initiatives to promote positive student engagement, character development, and leadership opportunities., • Foster strong relationships with families and communities to encourage active partnership in students’ learning and personal growth., • Use student data to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement in student support programming., • Serve as the primary point of contact for student disciplinary issues, ensuring fair, equitable, and consistent responses., • Support the development and delivery of professional development for staff focused on student support, restorative practices, and equity., • Contribute to the planning and execution of school events, assemblies, and recognition programs that celebrate student achievement.Qualifications Required for Dean of Students Roles, • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field; a master's degree in Education Leadership, School Counseling, or a similar area is strongly preferred., • Minimum three years of successful experience in a K-5 educational setting—preferably in urban schools or diverse communities., • Demonstrated expertise in student support services, school discipline, or related leadership positions., • In-depth understanding of social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, and restorative justice philosophy., • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to equity and inclusion., • Track record of building positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners., • Experience using student data to inform policies, interventions, and targeted support., • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others toward a shared vision of student success., • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.What We Offer for Dean of Students Careers, • Competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package., • Mission-driven, supportive, and innovative school environment., • Access to ongoing professional development and leadership coaching., • Opportunities for growth and advancement within the school and broader network.
