Job Summary: The HRIS Manager is responsible for the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday platform, with a strong focus on functional design, system configuration, and process improvement across key HCM modules. This role serves as a subject matter expert in Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Performance Management, and Absence Management, ensuring the system is scalable, compliant, and aligned with evolving business needs. In addition to configuration ownership, this role will deliver reporting and analytics solutions, including dashboards and calculated fields, to support data-driven decision-making. The HRIS Manager will report to the HRIS Director and partner closely with HR, IT, and external vendors to enhance system capabilities and user experience. Key Responsibilities • Lead the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday modules, including Core HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Performance, and Absence, • Act as a functional SME, translating business requirements into scalable Workday configurations and solutions, • Own and support Advanced Compensation cycles (merit, bonus, eligibility rules, allocations) and Performance Management processes, • Configure and optimize Absence Management, including plans, accruals, and compliance requirements, • Maintain Benefits Module, including plan updates and open enrollment configuration,, • Partner with HR stakeholders to evaluate processes and implement system-driven improvements and automation, • Design and maintain Workday security framework, ensuring proper role-based access, Segregation of Duties, and data privacy compliance, • Oversee data integrity and governance, including audits, validation, and mass data loads using EIBs, • Collaborate with HRIS/IT to design, test, and support integrations between Workday and internal/external systems, • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; act as escalation point for HRIS-related challenges, • Support semi-annual Workday releases, including impact analysis, testing, and deployment of new functionality, • Build and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to support HR operations and business insights, • Partner with HR and leadership to deliver meaningful analytics and audit-ready reporting Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience), • 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience with strong configuration ownership, • Proven experience supporting and configuring: Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Performance Management, and Absence Management, • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into functional system configurations, • Experience managing compensation cycles, performance processes, and absence programs in Workday, • Strong experience with Workday security, business process frameworks, and data governance, • Hands-on experience with EIBs and mass data loads, • Solid experience with Workday reporting, including calculated fields and dashboards Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting or leading Workday implementations or major enhancements, • Experience with Workday integrations (Studio, Core Connectors, or similar), • Familiarity with other HR systems (e.g., Lawson, Kronos), • Advanced Excel skills Skills & Competencies • Strong functional and technical understanding of Workday configuration and architecture, • Ability to design efficient, scalable system solutions aligned with HR processes, • Analytical skills with the ability to support reporting and data insights, • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, • Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
