Job DescriptionBusiness Analyst – Technology Business Management (TBM) Location: New York, NY – Hybrid Work Arrangement: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote Onsite Locations: Manhattan or Jamaica, NY Duration: 12 Months Work Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week Position Overview We are seeking a Business Analyst – Technology Business Management (TBM) to support technology financial transparency and expense management across the organization’s IT landscape. The ideal candidate will have experience with Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Financial Management, cost transparency, IT billing, or chargeback principles. This role will focus on improving cost visibility, financial accountability, and the connection between IT services, cost drivers, and business value. The successful candidate will work closely with IT, Finance, Service Owners, and business stakeholders to maintain financial models, validate cost allocations, improve reporting, and translate complex financial information into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities • Lead and execute TBM expense transparency activities across multiple IT divisions and service towers., • Support consistent financial reporting, allocation logic, and cost-modeling practices., • Develop, maintain, and refine TBM-related financial models and reporting frameworks., • Support cost allocation models, service tower mappings, and Run/Innovate categorization., • Partner with Service Owners to validate financial inputs and align IT cost structures., • Analyze and improve understanding of IT expense drivers and cost components., • Maintain reporting used to communicate IT spending insights to stakeholders., • Validate, enhance, and update TBM-related allocation methodologies., • Review and improve data sources, mapping logic, allocation rules, and cost-modeling assumptions., • Ensure financial reporting is accurate, transparent, defensible, and clearly communicated., • Analyze large and complex financial datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement., • Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to resolve data and allocation-related issues., • Translate complex financial and technology data into meaningful insights for technical and non-technical audiences., • Support continuous improvement of TBM frameworks, processes, and reporting capabilities.Required Qualifications, • 1–3 years of experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Financial Management, IT cost transparency, IT billing, chargeback, or a related area., • Strong understanding of financial operations, including:, • Budgeting and forecasting, • Cost allocation, • Financial reporting, • Financial analysis, • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:, • Data modeling, • Complex formulas, • Pivot tables, • Automation, • Scenario analysis, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, Finance, and business stakeholders at various organizational levels., • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable business insights., • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Qualifications, • Familiarity with TBM tools, cost-modeling practices, and cost-transparency reporting., • Experience working with Power BI dashboards and financial reporting tools., • Understanding of IT allocation methodologies and service-cost structures., • Experience with ServiceNow, particularly:, • IT Financial Management (ITFM), • Configuration Management Database (CMDB), • Application Portfolio Management (APM), • Service taxonomy, • Request and asset workflows, • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP/financial systems., • Experience supporting large, complex technology organizations is a plus.Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be: • Analytical and highly detail-oriented., • Strong in financial and technology data analysis., • Comfortable working with large and complex datasets., • An effective communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders., • Skilled at facilitating discussions and gathering information from Service Owners and Finance teams., • Able to work independently while managing competing priorities., • Comfortable working within evolving TBM frameworks and processes., • Focused on accuracy, transparency, and continuous process improvement.
