Job Description Job Title: Electrician Job Description Join a dynamic Electrical Subcontractor seeking a skilled Electrician to work on commercial projects across Long Island, Nassau, Suffolk County. Responsibilities • Regular attendance at assigned locations, including shop or project sites., • Residential and commercial installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems., • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints for wiring and equipment installation., • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as pipe threader and conduit bender., • Oversee or participate in wire installation with conduit and cable trays., • Install control and distribution apparatus, including switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels., • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads., • Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety using testing instruments., • Observe functioning of installed equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments or replacements., • Avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring consistent with specifications., • Understand and repair damage to electrical systems caused by fire, water, or power surges., • Knowledge of electrical codes and utility rules is essential., • Work independently without supervision., • Perform other routine duties as directed by workplace leader., • Participate in site housekeeping., • Travel and participate in overnight projects as needed., • Ensure the work van is fully stocked and organized, logging all information., • Follow through with all job-related paperwork, such as work orders and job reports., • Maintain adherence to safety rules and quality standards., • Represent the company professionally at all times., • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and residential electrical work., • Knowledge of all NYS codes and NEC codes., • Possess a valid driver's license., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Completion of trade school certificate or apprenticeship., • Experience with electrical conduit, wiring, troubleshooting, and construction., • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics., • Experience with conduit bending and cable installations., • Must own hand tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
