Job Description Junior Accountant - Full-Time Location: Essex County, NJ (On-Site) Compensation: $55,000 - $58,000 (Bonus Eligible) A well-established and highly regarded private organization in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to learn, apply core accounting principles, and gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions in a professional, service-focused environment. This role offers strong visibility within the organization and the chance to work closely with leadership while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a respected member-based organization. Key Responsibilities • Assist with Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) processing, • Verify accuracy of invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation, • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies, • Support member billing and account inquiries while providing professional customer service, • Assist with month-end closing activities, • Communicate with vendors, members, and internal staff regarding billing questions and payments, • Review and process daily sales activity, • Perform administrative accounting tasks including data entry, filing, and reporting, • Assist with the year-end financial audit, • Provide general support to the accounting department as needed Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, • 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred (internships welcome), • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles ; GAAP knowledge is a plus, • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, • Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Jonas, or Club Essentials is a plus, • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Ideal Candidate This role is ideal for someone with a 4-year accounting or business degree who is eager to grow within accounting .
