Job Description: As a Music Therapist at Music Makers International, you will be responsible for using music as a therapeutic tool to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals with disabilities. You will work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized music therapy programs that promote healing, self-expression, and overall well-being. Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. - Develop individualized music therapy treatment plans based on assessment results. - Facilitate individual and group music therapy sessions using a variety of musical techniques and interventions. - Utilize guitar or piano and singing in therapy sessions to engage clients effectively. - Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care. - Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities. - Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions. - Stay current with research and best practices in the field of music therapy. ** Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution. - Board Certification (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists. - Valid Music Therapist license in New Jersey. - Proficiency in playing guitar or piano and singing is preferred. - Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. - Strong musical skills and the ability to use various instruments in therapy. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of clients. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities: Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality. Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance. Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care. Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by physicians.
