Job DescriptionBenefits: • Bonus based on performance Responsibilities: • Follow directions from the Owner/Head Chef and follow through with set menus, • Assist Owner/Head Chef with creating menus according to season and customer research, • Cooking of traditional Mexican and American food, • Cooking of Various Authentic International Foods as determined by the Owner/Head Chef, • Presentation of all dishes in an appealing manner, • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment., • Inventory maintenance Requisitioning or purchasing/ordering of supplies. Maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste and implementing cost-saving strategies., • Monitoring product quality and consistency., • Follow all food safety regulations, • Motivating and fostering a positive work environmentQualifications:, • Previous cooking experience in commercial kitchen, small cafe or deli, • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food decorating techniques, • Ability to take direction from the Owner/Head Chef, • Knowledge of cooking of authentic Mexican foods, • Strong attention to detail, • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes, • Certification from culinary school a plus, • Knowledge of health code laws and food safety standards, • Training in food safety - ServeSafe or Food Handlers Certification is a plus, • Inventory control skills, • Ability to handle a fast paced work environment, • Ability to multi-task, • Bilingual Fluent verbal & written communication in both English & Spanish, • Excellent time management skills, • Strong leadership skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
