Job Description General Purpose of the Internship: The IT Help Desk Support Intern role is a supervised, training-focused internship designed to support the IT Technical Support Specialist (TSS) team while ensuring adherence to organizational security, compliance, and governance standards. Interns provide administrative and basic technical support functions and are not authorized to perform independent system configuration, infrastructure modification, or security-impacting changes. All technical activities must be assigned, approved, and supervised by authorized IT personnel in accordance with CRF IT governance standards and applicable regulatory and security frameworks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Supervised IT Operational Support, • Assist TSS staff with assigned operational tasks., • Support ticket documentation and administrative intake processes., • Provide basic user guidance only when directed by authorized IT personnel., • Device staging and preparation, • Equipment inventory handling, • Basic deployment preparation activities, • Non-production configuration assistance when assigned Interns are not authorized to: • Perform independent system changes, • Modify security configurations, • Access privileged administrative systems, • Execute production environment changes, • Security and Compliance Adherence, • Follow all CRF IT security and acceptable use policies., • Maintain confidentiality of all system, user, and organizational data., • Immediately report suspected security, compliance, or data protection concerns., • Documentation and Audit Support, • Assist with asset tracking and documentation., • Support audit preparation tasks when assigned., • Maintain accurate records of assigned activities., • Supervisor’s approval, • IT change control procedures, • Security policy enforcement Internship Parameters: • Decision-making and problem-solving responsibility:, • This internship will have no decision-making responsibility. This internship may assign tasks to identify inefficiencies in workflows and developing new tools or software. Responsibilities may include analyzing data to identify patterns, trends, or bottlenecks, and creating dashboards to help management make informed decisions. Other tasks may involve challenging assignments or a specific long-term project to own, which require navigating obstacles and driving the project to completion., • Working relationships and contacts:, • This internship will provide mentorship and feedback, peer support, and help build rapport through professional communication and initiative. These relationships are aimed at creating a professional, mutually beneficial learning experience., • Impact/importance of function:, • This internship will allow students and/or individuals to test career paths, develop soft/technical skills, build professional networks, and boost resume strength. This internship is critical for bridging the gap between academic study and professional employment, providing hands-on experience, industry networking, and increased employability. This internship will help build professional etiquette, increase confidence, and enhance communication skills in a professional environment., • Security and Compliance Acknowledgement Requirement:, • An Intern must review and acknowledge all applicable company policies and procedures, such as: Confidentiality Agreement, Anti-Harassment Policy, IT Acceptable Use Policy, Data Protection, Security Incident Reporting Procedure, and Change Management Awareness Internship Requirements and Minimum Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in IT, Computer Science, or related field., • Basic understanding of IT systems and support concepts., • Demonstrated professionalism and confidentiality awareness., • Ability to follow structured technical and security procedures., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
