American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/26/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position is in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting, • May float to Pediatrics and NICU, with potential to float to additional units based on skillset and hospital needs, • Day shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00–19:30, • Every other weekend work required (Sat/Sun), • Unit has 19 beds with patient ratios typically 1:2+, • Patients include critically ill pediatric and cardiac cases, • Procedures include Medtronic pacemaker management, telemetry monitoring, and respiratory support (BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care), • Uses Epic charting system; Epic proficiency required or preferred, • Provide specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients, including cardiac and complex respiratory cases, • May be assigned to float based on individual skill set and hospital needs, • Team works in a collaborative environment to provide comprehensive care, • Navy blue scrubs required, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • Requests for time off will be considered according to facility policy\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric ICU (PICU) critical care experience required, • At least 1 year of cardiac experience in a PICU strongly preferred, • Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred, • Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, and advanced pediatric respiratory devices required, • Experience with Epic EMR required or preferred, • First time travelers are not accepted, • No active or open background or license issues, • Former employees must be separated from the related health system for at least 1 year before eligibility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
