Director of Human Resources Reports to: • Chief Executive OfficerPosition Overview: The Director of Human Resources will provide hands-on strategic leadership, direction, and operational support for all Human Resources functions across the company. Aligned with the organization's core values, strategic goals, and long-term objectives, this role partners closely with department heads, managers, and supervisors across the property to drive effective people strategies and organizational performance. This is a highly dynamic leadership position responsible for managing, mentoring, and supporting a team of two Human Resources associates. This is an exempt position with a Company that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work and respond as business needs require, including outside of standard business hours, such as nights and weekends. Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelors degree required (HR, Communications, Business, Organizational Development, or related field), • PHR or SPHR certification highly desirable, • Minimum 10 years progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 5 years in management/leadership and 2 years at senior level, • Proven recruiting experience across all organizational levels, • Strong expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, workplace investigations (with thorough reporting), and proactive issue management, • Experience drafting/implementing HR policies, job descriptions, employee handbooks, and communications, • Hands-on experience establishing, negotiating, administering, and evaluating benefits programs, • Expert knowledge of workers compensation, workplace safety programs, and compliance, • Proven development/implementation of HR programs in employee relations, compliance, affirmative action, harassment prevention, complaints, training, and career development, • In-depth knowledge of federal, state (emphasis on California), and local employment laws, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, ADP a plus., • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, • Up-to-date knowledge of compensation, benefits, training, and workforce trends, • Experience partnering with Finance on HR/administrative budgets, • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop HR staff while enhancing HR function improvement.Key Responsibilities:, • Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive HR strategies, programs, policies, and operations., • Serve as strategic business partner to executive leadership on people-related aspects of strategy, growth, and operations., • Oversee full-cycle talent management: workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, training, and leadership development., • Develop staffing strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent using internal and external sources., • Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture aligned with company values., • Design, implement, and evaluate competitive compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs., • Ensure full compliance with employment laws/regulations (strong focus on California)., • Manage employee relations: investigate/resolve complaints, grievances, and conduct workplace investigations., • Develop/update/enforce HR policies, procedures, handbooks, and programs for fair, consistent practices., • Manage HRIS for data integrity, reporting, metrics, and compliance., • Oversee payroll administration, wage/hour compliance, benefits enrollment/vendor management, and employee communications., • Handle unemployment claims and hearings., • Promote workplace safety, health initiatives, and risk management compliance., • Build trust as advisor and problem-solver on people matters., • Lead, mentor, and develop HR team., • Continuously benchmark and improve HR practices., • Perform other duties as assigned.Expectations:, • Champion a collaborative, service-driven, people-first culture., • Act as brand and culture ambassador, communicating company story, values, and standards, • Demonstrate respect, fairness, professionalism, and a polished appearance, • Provide scheduling flexibility and reliable attendance/punctuality, • Uphold policies with consistency and sound judgment, • Exhibit welcoming, positive, solutions-oriented approach, • Operate independently with diplomacy, discretion, and strategic judgment, • Take initiative as a trusted leadership team member, • Communicate clearly; lead meetings, training, and presentations, • This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, including physical activity and lifting up to 25 pounds.
