Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with state and federal regulations, • Maintain an organized sterilization area, ensuring all tools are properly stored after sterilization, • Conduct regular checks and maintenance of sterilization equipment to ensure optimal functionality, • Document and log sterilization processes, including monitoring sterilization cycles, • Monitor and educate staff on proper sterilization protocols and procedures to ensure safety and compliance, • Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures, reporting any compliance issues to management, • Maintain an organized and compliant sterile processing area in accordance with infection control standards., • Collaborate with clinical and surgical staff to ensure instrument availability and timely case turnover., • Monitor adherence to sterilization and infection prevention protocols; provide guidance to staff as needed., • Comply with OSHA, CDC, state, and facility of infection control policies and safety regulations., • Report compliance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to management in a timely manner., • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) strongly preferred., • Previous experience in ophthalmology and dental sterilization role is a plus but not mandatory, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, • Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control principles, and regulatory standards., • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively within a fast-paced clinical environment, • Strong documentation and organizational skills. Schedule: • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday (with possibility of early morning start for first case). Weekends sometimes.
