Job Description Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Financial Literacy Coordinator to join our Wealth Builds team. Wealth Builds is an innovative effort to eliminate the racial wealth gap through nine evidence-based pillars beginning in Harlem and ultimately expanding to up to 10 cities nationwide. Ensure children receive educational screenings within 45 days of enrollment., • Oversees Disabilities Plan (i.e., referrals, screening, assessments, program placement for services, etc.), • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners for disabilities services and transition services., • Observes individual children, as requested, and provides suggestions for behavior management and developmental concerns. Participates in team meetings of children and schedules and facilitates any meetings for children with developmental or behavioral concerns., • Attends education home visits, parent conferences and IEO/IFSP meetings, when needed., • Assists Family Childcare Providers in understanding and interpreting child observations, assessments, weekly plan data and establishing appropriate individual child plans (goals) based on knowledge of child development., • Works with other coordinators/managers and childcare providers in providing needed resources to families. Job DescriptionPosition Description: SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Lead Teacher must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children full time in an early childhood classroom and be familiar with both The Department of Education and The Department of Mental Health and Hygiene. The Lead teacher of UPK 3 and UPK 4 must meet the Department of Education teacher education qualifications as specified in its policy manual. He or she should be able to express their personal educational philosophy and how it relates to their role as an educator. He or she must have knowledge and experience on the normal range of development of children. The Lead Teacher must have knowledge on how to create diversified lesson plans, and what is needed to help each child reach their full potential. The Starrett Early Centers Lead Teacher role requires an independent learner who is, detail oriented, efficient, analytical, and reliable. This role requires someone who can manage multi-tasking on various levels. He or she must be able to follow and execute multi-step directions and relate well to parents and staff. The Lead Teacher reports directly to the Executive Director and or the Education Director. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \tThe lead teacher must be able to work collaboratively within a team.
