We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded VP of Planning & Vendor Management to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, this executive will own two of the most critical and interconnected functions in our business: ensuring we have the right product, in the right quantities, at the right time — and that the vendor relationships powering our supply chain are built for scale, reliability, and mutual success. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a seasoned operator who thrives at the intersection of data-driven planning and strategic relationship management. What You'll Own • Inventory & Demand Planning., • Lead enterprise-wide demand forecasting and inventory planning across all HVLG brands and product categories., • Develop and manage open-to-buy processes that balance service levels, cash flow, and margin objectives., • Build and refine planning models that integrate sales trends, new product launches, seasonal patterns, and market signals., • Partner closely with merchandising, sales, and finance to align inventory strategy with commercial goals., • Drive the adoption of planning tools and systems that improve accuracy and efficiency at scale., • Vendor Management & Sourcing., • Own relationships with HVLG's global vendor base, including domestic and overseas manufacturers, suppliers, and logistics partners., • Lead vendor negotiations on pricing, lead times, terms, and capacity commitments., • Develop and enforce vendor scorecards and performance standards — quality, on-time delivery, compliance, and cost., • Identify and onboard new vendor partners as the business scales and product assortment evolves., • Mitigate supply chain risk through diversification, contingency planning, and proactive issue resolution., • Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration., • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing planning and vendor management team., • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy and operations decisions., • Partner with brand leaders, product development, and operations to align vendor capabilities with product roadmap requirements., • Report regularly to the CEO/President on planning performance, vendor health, and supply chain outlook., • Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For • 15+ years of progressive experience in planning, supply chain, sourcing, or vendor management — ideally within home furnishings, lighting, décor, wholesale, or a related consumer goods industry., • Proven track record leading both planning and vendor management functions at a senior level., • Deep experience managing complex, multi-vendor supply chains, including overseas manufacturing relationships., • Strong commercial acumen — comfortable working with P&L, margin analysis, and open-to-buy budgets., • Exceptional negotiator with the ability to build long-term, value-driven vendor partnerships., • Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment., • Analytical mindset with proficiency in planning systems, ERP platforms, and data tools., • Excellent communicator and collaborator — able to influence across functions and present clearly to executive leadership., • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or advanced degree a plus., • Ability to reliably commute to Wappingers Falls, NY 12590., • Ability to travel up to 10% annually., • US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
