Since 2016, Correctional Health Services (CHS) has been the direct provider of health care in the New York City jails. Deeply committed to human dignity and patient rights, CHS is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals system and is a key partner in the City’s efforts to reform the criminal-legal system. Our in-jail clinical services include medical, nursing, and mental health care; pharmacy services; substance-use treatment; social work; dental and vision care; discharge planning; and reentry support. To be located in three NYC Health + Hospital acute care facilities, the OTxHU is a pioneering approach to safely increasing access to high quality clinical care for patients in custody who have complicated health conditions. The Department of Psychiatry is seeking social workers assigned to work in the Psychiatry FPO at CUIMC. These are full-time, clinical positions that will involve seeing patients in our comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) programs and our intensive outpatient DBT programs, in addition to carrying general cases within the Psychiatry FPO. Background: Our Adolescent and Adult DBT programs each involve multiple levels of outpatient care treating a community of patients and families within a multidisciplinary team of highly motivated and intensively trained clinicians. Full time position is available for a psychologist to work in transplant as part of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry division. The clinician will be primarily assigned to work in renal transplantation and work alongside transplant nephrologists, nurse practitioners and social workers in a liaison-role. Most of the work will be in the outpatient clinic setting with some inpatient consultation. 1. The psychologist will provide assessments of adult candidates for renal transplant, 2. The psychologist will provide some follow up as needed in the evaluation phase and post renal transplant especially as a bridge to more chronic mental health care. A stepped-care approach will be applied, with collaborative care with social workers, nurse practitioners and transplant psychiatrists., 3.
