American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position based in a hospital Pediatric ICU with floating to adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, and NICU units as needed, • Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1-2 for PICU and 1:3 for intermediate care, with floating ratios assigned based on acuity, • Patients include critically ill infants, children, and adolescents requiring specialized care such as CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, and EKG interpretation, • Shifts are 3x12 hour days, 7:00 to 19:30, • Every other weekend and holiday work required, must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays, • EPIC is the charting system utilized, • Duties include providing specialized, comprehensive care to PICU patients, including advanced monitoring and intervention, • Will join a multidisciplinary pediatric team with support from other critical care professionals, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Must adhere to agreed schedule; additional time off requests are not accommodated after offer, • Must complete required modules and training, including 4 hours of Epic training and up to 18 hours of additional pre-start modules, • Return staff must have at least a 1-year break from previous employment with the health system before consideration, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of application, • Minimum of 2 years recent PICU experience required, • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS; NIHSS preferred, • Skills required: CVP and CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation and management, PEWs, insulin administration and pumps, NG placement and management, IV (ports/a-lines/central lines/PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD and VP shunt management, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, vents/trachs, trauma care, renal failure management, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, • ECMO experience preferred, • Experience working with Epic EMR preferred, • Ability to float within skillset is mandatory\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
