    About the Role The Head Maître d’ owns NORTE’s reservation book and leads the guest experience from the first request for a table through the end of the visit. This role combines commercial judgment, precise dining room management, and highly personal hospitality. Working closely with the General Manager, the Head Maître d’ builds demand, develops regular guests, and ensures the room feels exceptional every night. In preparation for our upcoming opening, this position requires participation in a mandatory training program. Key Responsibilities Strategic Floor & Reservation Management • Own table inventory, availability, seating plans, pacing, and turn times., • Manage cancellations, waitlists, last-minute requests, and walk-ins to make effective use of every service., • Protect the guest experience while making sound decisions about covers and revenue., • Balance regulars, first-time guests, VIPs, celebrations, and walk-ins throughout the room. Guest Relations • Recognize guests, anticipate preferences, and turn first visits into lasting relationships., • Maintain accurate guest profiles and visit history in Loyalist., • Build genuine relationships with regulars, concierges, and the New York hospitality community., • Handle sensitive requests and guest recovery with discretion, warmth, and sound judgment. Service Leadership • Partner with the General Manager on daily reservation priorities, VIP arrivals, pacing, and guest experience., • Communicate seating decisions and guest information clearly to the host and service teams., • Make timely decisions during service as conditions change., • Serve as a trusted point of contact and an informed presence in the dining room. Qualifications • Prior experience as a Maître d’, Head Maître d’, or Reservations Manager at a high-demand New York City restaurant., • Direct, hands-on ownership of the reservation book, table inventory, waitlist, VIP relationships, and service pacing., • Strong command of Resy or OpenTable and restaurant table management., • Demonstrated ability to recognize guests, build regular clientele, and make effective decisions under pressure., • Excellent communication, organization, discretion, and sound business judgment., • Required: Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, • Strong social intelligence, presence, and emotional awareness in high-profile guest-facing environments, • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive guest matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment, • Warm, polished, and hospitality-driven demeanor, with a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences., • High level of professionalism, confidence, and poise in fast-paced, high-demand restaurant environments, • Preferred: Experience with a hospitality CRM such as Loyalist and established relationships within New York City’s restaurant community. JOB SUMMARY As an Assistant Store Manager, you are responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store, ensuring the highest performance possible in all areas within the operation. WHAT YOU’LL DO Every shift starts with one goal: Deliver an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities may include: Guest Experience • Welcome every guest with a positive attitude., • Prepare customized orders accurately and efficiently., • Deliver friendly, fast, and genuine customer service., • Resolve guest concerns professionally., • Maintain a clean and inviting dining room. Food Preparation • Prepare fresh ingredients daily., • Grill meats and vegetables., • Fry chips, fries, quesadillas, and other menu items., • Assemble burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, salads, and other made-to-order meals., • Follow recipes and portion standards., • Ensure food quality and presentation meet Taco Tek standards. Restaurant Operations • Stock and replenish ingredients throughout the shift., • Rotate inventory using FIFO procedures., • Monitor food quality and freshness., • Complete prep work throughout the day., • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards., • Complete temperature logs and required checklists. Teamwork • Support teammates during busy periods., • Communicate clearly between front and back of house., • Help train new Crew Members., • Maintain a positive, respectful work environment. MORNING SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES Morning Crew Members help prepare the restaurant for a successful day by: • Opening kitchen and dining areas, • Preparing fresh ingredients, • Cooking proteins and sides, • Stocking stations, • Receiving deliveries, • Organizing inventory, • Preparing online order stations, • Ensuring the restaurant is ready before opening NIGHT & CLOSING SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES Closing Crew Members help finish the day strong by: • Serving late-night guests with the same quality and hospitality, • Keeping stations stocked until closing, • Breaking down kitchen equipment, • Cleaning grills, fryers, prep stations, and dining areas, • Properly storing food, • Completing nightly prep, • Washing dishes and utensils, • Completing closing checklists, • Leaving the restaurant clean, organized, and ready for the next day’s team WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE We’re looking for people who are: • Reliable and punctual, • Positive and hardworking, • Team-oriented, • Friendly and guest-focused, • Willing to learn, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, • Passionate about fresh food and hospitality Qualifications: • Restaurant or customer service experience preferred, but not required., • Strong communication skills., • Ability to stand for long periods., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds., • Comfortable working around hot equipment., • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays., • Must meet minimum hiring age requirements., • 21+ preferred for certain positions.     Position Overview South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures & the Arts (SBCSICA) is seeking an innovative, student-centered Middle School Robotics Teacher who believes every student deserves access to high-quality STEM education. The ideal candidate will inspire students through hands-on learning in robotics, engineering, coding, automation, and real-world problem-solving while preparing them for high school STEM pathways, robotics competitions, and future careers in technology. In alignment with Portrait of a Graduate, the Robotics Teacher will develop students who are critical thinkers, creative innovators, effective communicators, collaborative leaders, adaptable problem-solvers, and responsible digital citizens. Through authentic, project-based learning, students will build the technical knowledge and durable skills needed to thrive in high school, college, careers, and an ever-evolving global workforce. The teacher will prepare students for SBCSICA's High School CTE Pathways by providing the foundational knowledge and technical skills needed for advanced coursework in Aviation, Robotics, Engineering, Coding, and other STEM-related fields, while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a passion for innovation. This is an opportunity to help build one of the Bronx's premier robotics programs while empowering historically underrepresented students to see themselves as future engineers, programmers, inventors, and technology leaders. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum • Design and deliver engaging, project-based robotics and STEM lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards., • Teach robotics, engineering design, coding, automation, and computational thinking through hands-on learning experiences., • Integrate the engineering design process, problem-solving, and teamwork into daily instruction., • Prepare students for robotics competitions, STEM showcases, and collaborative design challenges., • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs., • Use student data to drive instruction and improve academic outcomes. STEM & Career Readiness • Prepare students for success in SBCSICA's High School CTE Pathways, including Aviation, Robotics, and other STEM programs., • Connect classroom learning to real-world STEM careers through authentic projects, guest speakers, field experiences, and industry partnerships., • Foster innovation, creativity, and career exploration through hands-on engineering experiences. Student Engagement • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment., • Promote collaboration, leadership, communication, perseverance, and innovation., • Inspire students to pursue STEM opportunities beyond the classroom., • Encourage participation in robotics competitions, STEM events, and school showcases. Program Development • Support the continued growth of SBCSICA's Robotics Program., • Maintain robotics equipment, inventory, tools, and classroom technology., • Assist with robotics competitions, grants, community partnerships, and STEM initiatives., • Promote the Robotics Program through family engagement and school events., • Professional Responsibilities, • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate STEM across content areas., • Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress., • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events., • Maintain accurate lesson plans, grades, assessments, and required documentation., • Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to the school community. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution., • New York State teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain certification)., • Experience teaching STEM, robotics, engineering, technology, computer science, or related subjects., • Strong classroom management and instructional skills., • Excellent communication and organizational skills., • Passion for equitable STEM education., • Lead the Robotics After-School Program and attend weekend competitions. Preferred, • Experience with VEX IQ,Minecraft, Arduino, or similar robotics platforms., • Experience coaching robotics teams or preparing students for STEM competitions., • Experience with project-based learning., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
