Job Description The Mental Health Association is seeking Per Diem Crisis Outreach Supervisors for our new program, 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, operating out of the Essex County location. The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program will respond to adults (18 and above) in nonlife-threatening situations who have contacted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program (MCORT) responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, to nonlife-threatening mental health, substance use or suicidal crises in the community. MCORT will work in coordination with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline crisis centers. (The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.) MCORT is to be comprised of a two-person team in the field under remote supervision by a third professional from a centralized location. Shifts are on an as-needed basis for this position. Specifically seeking holiday and weekend coverage. Qualified applicants for the position of Per Diem Crisis Outreach Supervisor will have, at minimum: • A Master’s Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution, a professional license (LSW, LAC) and two years of post-master’s full time equivalent professional experience in a psychiatric setting required., • A professional with experience in a crisis setting is preferred., • A valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record., • The ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health in the community. Job Description The Mental Health Association is seeking a Crisis Outreach Supervisor for our new program, 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, operating out of the Essex County location. The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program responds to adults (18 and above) in nonlife-threatening situations who have contacted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program (MCORT) responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, to nonlife-threatening mental health, substance use or suicidal crises in the community. knowledge of general practices and principles of residential services for adults with disabilities; working knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations governing the operation of a shared residential facility in New Jersey; understanding of the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities’ systems and programs; knowledge of trends in the fields of disabilities and advocacy • To successfully complete required Pillar Care Continuum and DDD core training in required period of time, • To adhere to DDD and Pillar Care Continuum policies, procedures and circulars and cooperate with Pillar Care Continuum, the Office of Licensing and the Division of Developmental Disabilities in any inspection or investigation, • To relate well to adults with disabilities, • To establish positive relationships with each individual, • To recruit, employ and supervise staff and follow Pillar Care Continuum and DDD personnel policies and practices; to maintain proper working relationships with individuals, staff, service coordinators, professional consultants, administrators, parents, guardians, sponsors and DDD staff, • To prepare and implement a budget and secure and account for resident funds, • To learn and understand each person’s individual needs and to carry out residential services by providing support and guidance, • To learn use of and to operate program and adaptive equipment, • To perform strenuous physical activity including supporting, lifting and transferring adults, • To drive a multi-Passenger Vehicle, • To communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, • To establish and maintain proper working relationships with supervisors, administrators, parents and others, • To respect and maintain confidentiality of individuals and staff, • To maintain a flexible work schedule which may entail evenings, overnights and or weekend assignments, • To maintain a safe working environment and adhere to standard health precautions, • To travel independently off-site, • To maintain a valid driver’s license with fewer than 5 points at all times, • Relate well with adults with disabilities, • Carry out program objectives, • Supervise staff, • Follow DDD and Pillar Care Continuum policies, guidelines and procedures, • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, • Maintain confidentiality, • Perform strenuous physical activity including lifting, supporting, and/or transferring adults with or without assistance, • Must successfully pass all core DDD trainings and Pillar Care Continuum trainings within 120 days of hire, • Maintain proper working relationships with consumers, staff, administrators, professional consultants, parents, guardians, sponsors and DDD personnel, • Maintain a safe environment and adhere to universal health precautions, • At least 18 years of age (Insurance Purposes), • HS Diploma or GED, • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and receive clearance from the Department of Human Services, confirming they are not disqualified, before beginning work with individuals served by the organization., • Must consent to having their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities., • Must submit to drug testing prior to their start date., • Required to complete an application for a name check against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)., • Required to complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
