Your Primary Focus: As Chief/Senior Estimator you are a Leader who will lead our estimating function reporting directly to the MES executive leadership. You’ll be responsible for overseeing complex, high-value bids across multiple projects concurrently while managing a small team of Estimators. What You’ll Be Responsible For: • Responsible for overseeing the estimating process and the estimating team ensuring the department is consistently meeting and exceeding their goals by performing regular reviews of their team., • Prepare, review and sign off on estimates and bids for the construction and service business units as required prior to submitting to customer., • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate preparation and final evaluation of bids to increase bidding efficiency in both percentage of profitability and percentage of jobs won., • Lead frequent (at least weekly) estimating meetings internally to review status of open bids and other department related items to ensure the appropriate estimating methods and resources are being utilized for the estimates needed., • Review and approve preliminary schedules, indirect costs, staff and execution plans with deep understanding of company policy on project cash flow and ensure that billing schedules and cash flow diagrams meet the requirements., • Manage CRM software and ensure new customers are added, the bid log is updated accurately and bid results/feedback are properly maintained while serving as the sales contact for select customers and clients served by MES., • Coordinate estimating transfer meetings for all awarded projects with the construction/service team and assigned estimator to ensure seamless project continuation., • Confidently following up with telephone calls to customers and clients to inquire about estimates that were previously sent., • Obtains prices from vendors and subcontractors for materials, equipment and services., • Provide guidance on how to overcome project document deficiencies, including scope clarifications, and identifying project risk and pricing., • Assist with the development of new processes and procedures to improve our estimating and proposal efforts. Job Description Fire Sprinkler Designer / Engineer with a minimum of 2 years experience in the fire sprinkler contracting industry. The qualified candidate will have knowledge in the fire sprinkler installation industry and will possess the ability to design and work on daily ongoing projects and complete them in a timely manner. Business hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime available. Job DescriptionJob Summary The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing Island Pump and Tank’s financial activities, including cash management, day to day accounting responsibilities, financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards, and provide guidance as needed to the Accounts Payable and Billing departments for Island Pump and Tank. This role reports to the Assistant Controller. Duties/Responsibilities: * Financial Reporting and Analysis: * Prepare and maintain Balance Sheet supporting workpapers. * Prepare and record all monthly closing journal entries. * Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including Balance Sheets and Income Statements. * Review and analyze the financial statements for accuracy and completeness. * Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with a 10 day monthly close. * Accounting Operations: * Cash Management - Oversee the daily integration between the bank’s online platform and IPT’s accounting software, ensuring all daily GL cash and banking activity is recorded correctly on a daily basis. * Handle day-to-day accounting tasks. * Prepare and file all sales and use tax returns. * Day-to-day supervision of the Payable and Billing teams. * Process ACH payments and issue physical checks as needed. * Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed. * Maintain accurate and organized financial records. * Support the Assistant Controller and Corporate Accounting team as needed. * Compliance and Auditing: * Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and regulatory requirements. * Assist with external audits. * Prepare year-end work papers for the annual audit and income tax returns. * Distribute weekly reports to the management team. * Communication and Interpersonal Skills: * Communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. * Build strong relationships with team members, other departments, bank representatives, and all other external contacts as needed. Provide guidance with accounting issue resolution, accounting software issue resolution, review monthly progress toward KPI goals regarding the backlog of unbilled work orders and monthly billing of construction projects if applicable. * Provide training and mentorship to staff members, sharing expertise and best practices. * Conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with the Assistant Controller. * Ensure directives from the Assistant Controller and Corporate Accounting team are adhered to to achieve key performance indicators for the department. Skills and Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. * Experience: Public accounting (audit or related field) with subsequent experience in private accounting is preferred, not required. * Certifications: CPA or other relevant accounting certifications (e.g., CMA, CIA) preferred, not required. * Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems. Operations & Office Management * Organize internal and external events, including corporate functions, holiday parties, team-building events, and charitable initiatives. Manage logistics, invitations, venue selection, and accommodations. * Assist executives with internal communications such as drafting memos, announcements, and materials for company-wide updates or meetings. * Proactively track project deadlines, competing priorities, and executive schedules to ensure timely completion and resource management. Special Projects & Strategic Support * Collaborate with finance, HR, operations, and sales/marketing teams to support business initiatives and maintain alignment with executive goals. * Monitor and report progress on strategic initiatives, ensuring milestones are met and resource allocation is effective. * Recommend and implement improvements to administrative processes, office systems, and executive workflows to enhance efficiency.
