Ensure all materials borrowed from the hostsite have been returned. 6: Participate in regular meetings (typically conference calls), to receive updates andprovide input on academies.In-service training or engagement opportunities will be offeredoccasionally. 7: Serve as part of a team of Instructor Trainer Educators that will provide constructivefeedback and support to improve program quality. 8: Serve as a role model for other instructors acting as an ambassador for excellence intraining in the specialty area. 9: Assist with quality assurance activities, if available. Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. In this position the MAVT/MAVO transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and or appointments, and then return them. Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. The MAVT/MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. The MAVT/MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. The MAVT/MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. At the conclusion of the MAVT’s/MAVO's shift they must turn in the appropriate paperwork, and monies collected. Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. In this position the MAVT/MAVO transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and or appointments, and then return them. Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. The MAVT/MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. The MAVT/MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. The MAVT/MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Accurately completes a pre-inspection and post-inspection sheet prior to and after your tour as per NJ DOH/DOT. Performs a visual inspection of the patient compartment, inside and out, and for cleanliness and damage. Cleans the patient compartment, equipment, and outside of vehicle as needed. Replaces damaged or missing items, noting deficiencies on Usage Report. Presents the signed, dated Vehicle/Equipment Checklist to the Supervisor. Ensures that the ambulance is at all times in compliance with applicable NJ Department of Health Regulations. Directs his/her assistant (EMT) with regard to assistance with patient care and handling, use of emergency warning devices, speed and special driving conditions particular to patient needs. Responds to all calls as directed by Communications in a professional manner and in the time frame assigned. Treats all patients in accordance with NJ Basic Life Support Protocols. Secures patient information and records from the discharge planner or Registered Nurse at the transferring facility. Transports all patients via stretcher. (All psych transports must be on stretcher) Carries all patients to and from the ambulance, NO PATIENTS ARE TO WALK. Carefully monitors all patients during transport. Observes all patient rights with regard to courteous conduct, behavior and appropriate communication. Records changes in patient’s condition during transport. Alters patient care in accordance with changes in the patient’s condition. Takes all patients to their assigned location i.e. medical facility or residence. Patients are never to be left at the door. Promptly and accurately completes Pre-Hospital Reports. Properly completes company paperwork and obtains all necessary signatures for billing purposes. Maintains professional conduct and courteous interaction with all medical facility staff, fellow co-workers, and provides conscientious customer service. Possess valid CPR, Blood borne Pathogens, OSHA, & HazMat Certifications. Must wear company uniforms as mandated in company uniform policy. Complies with all Federal State Laws, ordinances, and regulations. Performs all duties as required by law and company policy Speaks positively about the company. Must maintain clean driving record. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid and clean record NJ Driver’s license for at least 1 year. Current NJ valid EMT-B certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
