EDI recognizes eviction and housing insecurity as traumatic events and seeks to implement trauma-informed, harm-reduction approaches that promote dignity, health, and long-term housing stability. Reporting to the Brooklyn EDI Project Manager, the Social Worker will provide short-term clinical interventions, crisis support, and ongoing care coordination, while collaborating closely with Navigators, court partners, and community service providers. Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon manages a 5-year grant by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise the standard of care for traumatized children in New York City. REACH focuses on school-aged children and older through the implementation of anti-oppressive, age-appropriate trauma interventions. The Director SAMHSA Child Trauma Initiatives is responsible for integrating the staff development and direct service components of REACH to facilitate their implementation in Safe Horizon’s child trauma cluster which includes our Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC), Child Advocacy Centers (CACs), Child Trauma Response Team (CTRT), and Safe Way Forward (SWF) program. The Director will continue to serve as Principal Investigator (PI) of REACH initiative. They will be responsible for the activities of the program to provide all our clients, school-age children up to age 17 and their families, with a service experience while maintaining data collection systems, evaluation programs, and maintaining full compliance with all federal regulations and reporting requirements for the program The Director also ensures the implementation of effective evaluation measures and completion of all client-level assessments and data gathering that is required for REACH. The Director will report to and collaborate regularly with the Vice President Children and Mental Health on REACH administration activities. NY Wage Parity law knowledge is preferred., • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations., • Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and year-end filings (W-2, 1099, etc.)., • Serve as the primary employee-facing contact for payroll questions, issue resolution, and policy guidance., • Maintain strong internal controls, payroll documentation, and audit-ready records., • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Operations teams to support onboarding, offboarding, benefits, timekeeping, and payroll-related inquiries., • Assist with payroll system improvements, automation, and process optimization initiatives. Requirements • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required., • 5+ years of payroll experience processing for 1,000+ employees, including multi-state payroll compliance and payroll tax., • Strong hands-on experience with W-2, 1099, hourly/salary structures, and varied pay cycles., • Comfort and professionalism serving as the payroll point of contact for employees., • Solid understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and regulatory requirements.
