Job Description Most of what makes American healthcare expensive isn’t medical care. It’s the machinery wrapped around it: middlemen taking a cut, fraud nobody stops, and billing systems designed to fight over payment instead of deliver care. The result is higher premiums, denied claims, surprise bills, and a system patients increasingly experience as adversarial. Arlo is rebuilding health insurance for small businesses from first principles: making sure as much of every premium dollar as possible goes to care instead of getting absorbed by the system around it. We do that by identifying fraud earlier, steering members toward higher-quality and lower-cost care, automating operational overhead, and eliminating vendors whose business exists mostly to take a cut. AI is the foundation that makes this work. We use it across underwriting, operations, clinical programs, and member experience to build an insurer that becomes more efficient as the technology improves. We’re already operating at meaningful scale: profitable, hundreds of millions in premiums, tens of thousands of members covered, and growing quickly through brokers, employers, and partners. Backed by Upfront Ventures, 8VC, and General Catalyst, with a team from Palantir, YC companies, and longtime healthcare operators. About the role: Underwriting is at the core of Arlo. Every group we price depends on how accurately we can estimate the risk of the individual members inside, and the quality of the estimate is essential to the sustainability of our business. We’re hiring a Senior Data Scientist to own our underwriting model and continuously deploy measurable improvements to it based on learnings from real-world outcomes. You’ll work with billions of claims across tens of millions of patients to identify what signals in claims history predict future medical cost, how to roll it up to a competitive price for a group, and how to deploy the system at scale. You’ll constantly monitor the lifecycle of predictions, group policies sold, and claims incurred by our tens of thousands of members to gather novel insights that can improve our model and pricing approach. This is a hands-on modeling role in which you will sit on the underwriting team alongside our team of data scientists and actuaries thinking through issues beyond point estimates of cost including how to handle data blindness, variability, and when the risk is too high to issue a quote. You’ll own the model but work alongside ML engineers to ensure that your ideas can be tested and deployed at scale. What you’ll work on: Evaluate the existing Arlo underwriting model and find where it breaks Develop a robust evaluation framework to stress the model outcomes and identify specific gaps in risk estimates (cohorts, conditions, or claims patterns) and the underlying causal factors Use those findings to generate a roadmap of model and feature work that is prioritized based on making sure our rates are competitive in the market while ensuring we can remain a profitable business. Build features that capture the full risk of a member Account for training and inference dataset bias to optimize member predictions Improve handling of member cost variance in our quoting pipeline Experiment with model designs Implement different ML architectures that balance efficacy, generalizability, and understanding so we can outperform the market Prove the lift before it ships Work with our backtesting harness to measure the effect of every model change on MLR and competitiveness. Set the bar for what "better" means and hold changes to it, so improvements to the model are trustworthy What we’re looking for: 5+ years as a data scientist building predictive models that made it into production Deep proficiency in Python and SQL, with comfort processing large datasets using Spark and using common modeling packages. A track record of owning a problem end-to-end in an ambiguous environment and shipping without being handed a spec Direct experience with healthcare data Strong instincts for feature engineering and model validation, and the judgment of how well results might be able to hold in production Interest in the larger business context. This is not a research endeavor, but a live model that directly changes our win rates, book size, and performance. Clear communicator who can explain what they did and why it mattered Nice to Have: Familiarity with claims data and their known quirks and biases Prior experience working at Series C or earlier start-ups Background in underwriting, actuarial sciences, or risk adjustments Experience with ML engineering and infrastructure Compensation $170,000- $220,000 + equity and benefits Why Join Arlo: High ownership: You’ll get real responsibility from day one—our high-trust team empowers you to run with big problems and shape core parts of the company. Join an important mission: Your work directly influences how people access care and improves lives at scale. Growth & expansion: We’re moving fast, and as we grow, your scope will grow with us—new challenges, bigger opportunities, and rapid career velocity. Apply AI to a problem that matters: Instead of optimizing ads or cutting labor costs, you’ll use AI to fundamentally reimagine how people get healthcare. High pace, high collaboration: We operate with velocity, first-principles thinking, and a team that works closely, openly, and with ambition. Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process. Arlo is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on age, race, color, creed or religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military status, sex, disability, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, familial status, status as a victim of domestic violence, or arrest or conviction record, as defined under New York State law. Your safety matters to us. If you're selected to move forward in our hiring process, you'll hear directly from a member of our Recruiting team via an @joinarlo.com email address. We will never ask for personal or financial information outside of our formal onboarding process. When in doubt, please reach out to us to verify at: recruiting@joinarlo.com.

You move comfortably between prototyping new resolution techniques and shipping them into a production pipeline. You know what "production ready" means and hold yourself to that standard., • Vendor skepticism. When evaluating external solutions, you design rigorous tests, ask hard questions, and let data, not demos, drive your recommendation. Job DescriptionWhat you'll be part of Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system — and we're the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster. The result is a rare "win win" — better care and lower costs for both members and employers. In just five years, our work has helped over 2.5 million people access higher-quality care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. We recently raised our Series E and have doubled five years running. If you've ever wanted your work to solve a problem that touches every person in this country, this is the opportunity to do exactly that. You'd be joining a team fundamentally reimagining healthcare in the U.S. — and using AI to scale that impact further and faster than anyone else can. About the role We are seeking an exceptional Staff Applied Researcher to join our Applied Science team. You will be responsible for building the algorithmic systems that power Garner — determining how we evaluate providers, make recommendations, and optimize for outcomes across cost, quality, and access. You will be responsible for turning ambiguous, real-world problems into systems that deliver measurable impact, defining the objective functions, metrics, and logic that drive our product. You will own these systems end-to-end, from problem definition through production and ongoing performance. Where you will work: This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District). You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. What you will do: • Own the most ambiguous, high-stakes problems facing the company end-to-end, and set how the team frames and approaches them, • Frame messy, real-world healthcare and business constraints into clear objectives, tradeoffs, and decision frameworks, • Define the set of metrics needed to judge whether a solution is working, and validate solutions before they ship, • Choose the right approach for each problem, from machine learning to optimization to heuristics to simple rules, based on what the problem actually calls for, and set the standard for how the team selects and applies these approaches, • Deliver algorithmic breakthroughs that move the company's most important metrics, pioneering approaches that become how applied science is done at Garner, • Review applied science work at the highest level across the company, ensuring the methods used across teams are sound and correctly applied, • Build a deep understanding of the healthcare economy and Garner's place in it To make the role concrete, here are three problems on our near-term roadmap: • Provider tiering optimization. Build a tiering algorithm that jointly optimizes geographic access and total-cost-of-care savings across our doctor network. Today, over 5,000 global brands - including Walmart, Uber, Shopify, Lenovo, and Fanatics - rely on impact.com to power more than 350,000 partnerships that deliver measurable business results. Your Role at impact.com: We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist to serve as an embedded Data Scientist within our Programmatic Experience Group. You'll own the design and deployment of machine learning models that optimize yield, pricing, and inventory allocation at scale — sitting at the intersection of data science, platform engineering, and marketplace economics. This is a high-craft, high-ownership individual contributor role. You'll work end-to-end: architecting the data pipelines that feed your models, engineering the features that drive performance, and deploying real-time inference systems that make decisions at speed. Your work directly determines how effectively Impact's programmatic marketplace balances advertiser performance with publisher monetization — making this one of the highest-leverage technical roles in the business. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Programmatic Delivery Engine Engineering, but you operate with significant autonomy. You're expected to bring both the modeling rigor of a data scientist and the production instincts of an ML engineer — and to be genuinely excited about both. What You'll Do: Yield Optimization & Pricing Models • Design and deploy ML models that optimize auction pricing, bid shading, floor price setting, and yield across Impact's programmatic inventory., • Build and iterate on real-time pricing algorithms that balance short-term revenue efficiency with long-term publisher and advertiser health., • Develop and maintain feedback loops that allow pricing models to adapt to shifting market conditions, inventory mix, and demand patterns., • Quantify the revenue impact of pricing model improvements; communicate tradeoffs between yield maximization, fill rate, and partner ROI to stakeholders. Inventory Allocation & Supply Optimization • Own ML-driven inventory allocation logic: routing, pacing, and matching supply to demand across partner segments, deal types, and campaign objectives., • Build models that forecast inventory availability, demand curves, and clearing prices to support proactive allocation decisions., • Identify and address inefficiencies in inventory utilization — including unsold inventory, suboptimal deal matching, and allocation imbalances across the publisher base. Data Architecture & Feature Engineering • Design and own the data infrastructure that feeds programmatic models: event pipelines, feature stores, training datasets, and real-time feature serving., • Engineer high-signal features from auction logs, bid stream data, user signals, contextual attributes, and historical performance — at the scale of programmatic data volumes., • Build robust data pipelines with production-grade standards: reliability, observability, versioning, and efficient reprocessing. Real-Time Inference & Production ML • Deploy models to production real-time inference environments; own latency, reliability, and throughput requirements for auction-time decision-making., • Build monitoring systems that track model performance, data drift, and system health in production; define alerting thresholds and retraining triggers., • Partner with MLOps and Platform Engineering to ensure scalable, low-latency serving infrastructure meets SLOs under high-volume auction traffic., • Own the full model lifecycle: training, evaluation, deployment, A/B testing, and iteration. Experimentation & Performance Measurement • Design and execute rigorous A/B and holdout experiments to measure the causal impact of model changes on yield, fill rate, advertiser performance, and publisher revenue., • Build evaluation frameworks that go beyond offline metrics — validating model behavior in live auction environments where feedback signals are delayed or noisy., • Translate experimental results into clear business narratives; present findings and recommendations to Product and business stakeholders. Self-Learning Systems & Feedback Loops • Research and implement adaptive, self-learning components within the programmatic stack — including contextual bandits, reinforcement learning signals, and online learning approaches where appropriate., • Design feedback mechanisms that close the loop between auction outcomes, model updates, and system behavior; reduce reliance on manual tuning and rule-based overrides., • Stay current with advances in programmatic ML, auction theory, and online optimization; evaluate applicability to Impact's specific marketplace dynamics. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Serve as the primary ML technical partner for the Rubicon product and engineering teams; translate business requirements into modeling approaches and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly., • Collaborate with Data Science peers on shared infrastructure, modeling standards, and cross-domain feature reuse., • Document models, architectures, and experimental findings to a standard that enables review, replication, and knowledge transfer across teams. What You Bring: Required • Experience: 5+ years in data science, ML engineering, or quantitative research, with at least 2+ years building and deploying ML models in programmatic advertising, ad tech, marketplace optimization, or a closely related domain (e.g., real-time bidding, dynamic pricing, auction systems)., • Programmatic & marketplace depth: Demonstrated understanding of programmatic auction mechanics (RTB, header bidding, floor pricing, deal types, bid shading) and how ML can be applied to optimize outcomes across the supply-demand stack., • Production ML engineering: Proven ability to take models from prototype to production independently — including real-time inference, monitoring, retraining pipelines, and SLO ownership., • Data architecture: Experience designing and building data pipelines, feature stores, and training infrastructure for high-volume, low-latency ML systems., • Technical skills:, • Strong Python and SQL; proficiency with ML libraries (scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and large-scale data tools (Spark, Kafka, or equivalent streaming/batch frameworks)., • Experience with real-time feature serving and low-latency model deployment (REST APIs, gRPC, or streaming inference)., • Familiarity with production ML workflows: model versioning, drift monitoring, A/B testing, evaluation, and retraining., • Experience processing and modeling at programmatic data scale: high-cardinality auction logs, bid stream data, impression and click events., • Experimentation rigor: Strong grasp of causal inference and experiment design in online, delayed-feedback environments (auction holdouts, switchback tests, variance reduction techniques)., • Communication: Ability to explain complex modeling decisions and tradeoffs to Product and business stakeholders; comfortable presenting in cross-functional forums., • Education: Bachelor's in a quantitative field (CS, Statistics, Math, Engineering, Economics, or similar); Master's/PhD preferred. Preferred / Nice to Have • Direct experience with SSP, DSP, or exchange-side yield optimization — particularly floor price optimization, bid landscape modeling, or deal matching algorithms., • Familiarity with auction theory (first-price vs. second-price dynamics, optimal reserve pricing, revenue equivalence) and its practical implications for programmatic ML., • Experience with contextual bandits, multi-armed bandits, or reinforcement learning applied to real-time decisioning problems., • Knowledge of online learning and adaptive algorithms in production environments with non-stationary data distributions., • Familiarity with privacy-preserving ML techniques relevant to programmatic (differential privacy, federated learning, cookieless attribution modeling)., • Experience with GCP tools (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) and/or Databricks/Spark for large-scale event processing and model training., • Exposure to supply forecasting, inventory management, or capacity planning in programmatic or marketplace contexts., • Familiarity with Impact's affiliate and partnership ecosystem, or prior experience at the intersection of performance marketing and programmatic delivery. What Sets You Apart • Marketplace intuition. You understand programmatic auctions not just as an engineer but as an economist — you think about incentive structures, equilibrium dynamics, and how model decisions ripple through the supply-demand stack., • Full-stack ML ownership. You're as comfortable designing a feature store schema as you are tuning a gradient boosting model or debugging a latency spike in production. You own the whole chain., • Feedback loop thinking. You don't just deploy models — you design the systems that make them smarter over time. You think about how today's decisions become tomorrow's training signal., • Rigor under real-world constraints. You know how to run clean experiments in environments where feedback is delayed, data is noisy, and business pressures create tradeoffs. You don't let imperfect conditions become an excuse for imprecise thinking., • Pragmatic delivery. You ship. You balance the perfect with the production-ready, iterate fast, and know when an MVP outperforms a six-month research project., • Collaborative depth. You build genuine technical trust with engineering and product partners — not just by having good ideas, but by following through, communicating clearly, and making the integration easy. Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000 per year, plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant. *This is the pay range the Company believes is equitable for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Work from anywhere. Enjoy a four-day workweek. At Wonderlic, we believe great work and a fulfilling life should go hand in hand. We're a remote-first company offering a full-time, 32-hour workweek across four days, giving our team more time to focus on what matters at work and beyond it. Our mission is to create a world where everyone finds and thrives in their best job—and that starts with us. We combine decades of science-based assessment expertise with industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to deliver evidence-based insights that help organizations make smarter employment decisions. Our intuitive assessment solutions empower HR teams to identify top applicants, predict on-the-job performance, and build stronger, more successful workforces. We're proud to bring the same thoughtful, evidence-based approach to how we work as we do to the solutions we create. We believe people do their best work when they have the flexibility, support, and time to thrive, both professionally and personally. What Sets Us Apart • Scientific Excellence: We apply rigorous scientific methodologies to develop assessments that accurately measure individual potential and help organizations make informed talent decisions., • Innovation: We continually explore emerging technologies and methodologies, including machine learning and AI, to keep our solutions at the forefront of talent assessment., • Lasting Impact: By integrating I-O psychology and evidence-based insights, we help organizations hire more effectively, develop talent, and improve long-term employee success and retention.Overview: Wonderlic is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to sit at the precise intersection of I-O psychology and machine learning - someone who has spent time building real systems with real data who cares deeply about what those systems are predicting. This is not a role for an ML engineer who finds people data interesting as a side project, or for an I-O psychologist who has learned to code. We're looking for someone who has genuinely lived in both worlds and is ready to own the problems that live between them. Wonderlic built its applied AI/ML team from scratch, developed the Jobs Engine, a first-of-its-kind machine learning system for job analysis at scale, and won the 2025 SIOP Machine Learning Competition. We're now refining and expanding that work to deliver sharper, richer job analysis insights across thousands of roles. You will own the continued improvement of our jobs engine, the system that ingests labor market data and produces job analysis at scale across thousands of roles, and serve as one of the organization's experts on how AI should be applied to both employee selection and development. Your Impact: As Senior Research Scientist, you will set the scientific and technical direction for how Wonderlic understands work at scale and translates assessment science into AI-powered insight. Your work will directly determine the quality, defensibility, and reach of the inferences our platform makes about jobs and people - inferences that drive hiring decisions, development plans, and coaching conversations for millions of users. You will be the person in the organization who can hold both the I-O science question and the production ML question in the same breath, and answer both. What You'll Do Lead the Continued Development of the Jobs Engine: Own the architecture, integrity, and continuous expansion of Wonderlic's AI job analysis system, which ingests labor market data from ONET, LinkedIn, Indeed, and other sources to extrapolate cognitive complexity ratings, norm groups, and occupational interest profiles for thousands of jobs. Build and refine the models that make inferences about work content from unstructured text. Leverage existing occupational taxonomies (e.g., ONET, ESCO) where appropriate but also expand beyond them. Ensure all outputs are scientifically defensible and scalable as the nature of work evolves. Act as an Expert on AI Implementation Across the Organization: Partner with product managers, engineers, and I-O psychologists to translate scientific requirements into AI-powered systems and ensure those systems meet the standards the work demands. Advise on which approaches are best suited to specific implementation challenges - assessment interpretation, manager and teams reporting, coaching content - and help teams understand what good looks like before they build and after they ship. Serve as an internal resource on what ML and AI can and cannot do in assessment and organizational contexts, and contribute to Wonderlic's external scientific credibility. Drive Scientific Rigor: Apply I-O psychology principles - adverse impact consideration, norm group construction, and evidence-based evaluation standards - to every system you build. Ensure that Wonderlic's AI products meet professional and legal standards for selection and development tools. Push back when speed is being prioritized at the expense of defensibility, and find pragmatic paths forward when theoretical purity would prevent shipping. What Success Looks Like: In your first six months, you will have a deep understanding of the jobs engine architecture and shipped at least one meaningful improvement to its coverage, accuracy, or scientific defensibility. You will have established working relationships with the I-O and Product teams and have a clear roadmap for the continued integration of AI into the platform. Within a year, you will have materially expanded the jobs engine's reach and accuracy with demonstrable improvements to its coverage and the quality of inferences it produces. You will have contributed to the continued integration of AI across the platform, and be the person your colleagues go to with the hardest ML-meets-IO-science problems - not because you have every answer, but because you know how to find them. The long-term marker of success is a jobs engine that provides defensible, scaled job analysis inference across millions of roles using a wide variety of inputs, AI capabilities integrated into the platform in ways that hold up to scientific and professional scrutiny, and a track record of using these technologies to improve people's understanding of themselves, their work, and their teams. You will also have helped to develop new assessments that leverage emerging technologies which allow for richer and more secure evaluation of individuals. What We're Looking For: Skills & Capabilities: • Applied NLP and ML engineering skills: embeddings, semantic search, clustering, text classification, transformer architectures, model tuning and evaluation, all on potentially messy, unstructured data, • Occupational data modeling: job titles, task statements, skills, competencies, credentials, job families, seniority levels, title normalization, job similarity, role differentiation, and occupational frameworks such as O*NET and ESCO, • Responsible AI judgment in employment contexts: fairness, explainability, auditability, bias mitigation, human review, and legal and ethical considerations in AI-supported selection and employee development systems, • Generative AI evaluation skills: rubric-based review, groundedness checks, error analysis, regression testing, and evaluation of LLM-generated job descriptions, work-context summaries, and assessment result contextualization., • Product judgment for applied ML systems: balancing accuracy, explainability, automation, expert review, user input, maintainability, uncertainty, and job-specific nuance., • Working fluency with assessment and I/O concepts: job relatedness, criterion relationships, adverse impact, norm groups, assessment profiles, and score interpretation., • Ability to own ambiguous, high-complexity problems: framing underspecified problems, challenging weak assumptions, learning domain constraints quickly, and driving durable solutions in a small-company environment. Mindset: • You came to I-O psychology because you care about work - what makes it meaningful, who thrives in it, how to measure fit. That hasn't changed., • You have a healthy relationship with "good enough": you know that perfect is the enemy of shipped, and you have the judgment to know where the line is., • You can hold both worlds simultaneously: what does this score mean for a real person, and how do I build the system that generates it., • You are genuinely curious about the problems that exist for both employee selection and development, not just tolerant of them., • You thrive in an environment that requires creativity and scrappiness: you can work comfortably in a situation where the problems are hard, the team is small, the constraints are many, and the ownership is real.Qualifications, • Graduate degree in I-O Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or closely related field (quantitative focus strongly preferred); doctoral degree a plus, • Demonstrated ML engineering experience with shipped, production-grade systems - not just research or coursework, • Experience applying modern NLP methods to behavioral, assessment-based, or labor market data, • Track record of work that had to be both technically sound and legally/professionally defensible, • Minimum 3 years of applied industry experience; 5+ years preferred, • Experience at the intersection of I-O science and algorithmic fairness strongly preferred, • Familiarity with occupational taxonomies, vocational interests, or cognitive ability frameworks a significant plus Compensation: • $130,000 to $150,000 based on experience and expertise. Base salary $130,000—$150,000 USD Our Policy Affirmative Action Plan/Equal Employer Opportunity (AAP/EEO) Statement: Research suggests that both the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can make members of some groups (including women, members of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, and candidates of less traditional age, education, or background) less likely to apply for jobs when they don't meet 100% of the qualifications. At Wonderlic, we are in the business of identifying potential, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply. Wonderlic is proud to be an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer. Here, diversity is valued and celebrated, and this is what makes us such a successful team. Wonderlic does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, pregnancy status, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, parental status, military/veteran status, or any other factor protected by law. Job DescriptionAbout Dyania Health Dyania was born with the mission to find clinically critical and relevant insights buried within electronic medical records and release these insights to inform and drive clinical care and clinical research. Our vision is to make sure every patient gets the right care at the right time based in medical decisions precisely informed by their own data. Each patient’s medical record would take a provider nearly 2 hours to read once, let alone read again and again for all the updates cumulated over time. It would be humanly infeasible to achieve even if there was an army of available human clinicians with time that they could spare. Moreover, if so much of medicine is undiscovered, how is an AI model meant to reason appropriately if humans do not know or agree on the right answer? What does high performing reasoning mean in a world of discord and vagueness? Synapsis AI is the answer. At Dyania Health, we built Synapsis AI over years of AI research, clinicians annotating data and real world tests to acutely understand and overcome every challenge at the point of care. The reason why we became obsessed with solving this problem has its roots in the very core of what is an innately human problem. You'll partner with our ADRs and Marketing, and when there are gaps, you fill them and advocate for what your territory needs., • Define and execute territory plans and account plans to ensure you exceed your goals., • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of complex, multi-stakeholder deals, navigating buying committees and RFPs that can involve 10–15 people., • Quarterback the demo: run core product demos yourself, and partner with our Solutions Engineering team to tailor deeper demos around the value, business case, and story each buyer needs to hear., • Participate in the RFP process for prospects, including qualifying leads to ensure a good fit and providing a final review of all responses., • Operate with the mentality that sales is a team sport, and bring in Syndio SMEs (e.g. lawyer, labor economist, data scientist, testifying expert, CEO) to help you win and exceed your goals., • Get in front of customers: we're building a stronger in-person motion, with travel about 1–2 times per quarter for onsites, executive meetings, and events., • Operate as a self-directed owner of your territory in a fully remote, distributed team. You use AI tools (e.g. Claude/ChatGPT, Gong AI, Clay) as a normal part of how you research accounts, prep for calls, and personalize outbound, not as a novelty, and you bring ideas for where technology can help the team, • You have a highly disciplined approach to selling, • You are savvy, capable of curating a thoughtful approach to pay equity, diversity and inclusion, and workplace fairness for each individual client, • You're comfortable operating in ambiguity, building your own playbook when one doesn't fully exist yet, rather than waiting for one, • You bring a positive attitude, hustle, and persistence to your role, • You are an excellent communicator, able to build relationships quickly with your colleagues, clients, and prospects, • You're consultative, not scripted. You're curious, a great listener who knows where to poke and prod with prospects to inspire them to take action and drive organizational change, • You know how to drive a deal and proactively lead prospects and customers (rather than reacting to their requests), • You are proficient with spreadsheets, presentation, and project management business applications, • You are committed to our mission of workplace equity and passionate about Syndio productsExtra credit, • Experience selling to compensation and total rewards professionals, • Overall understanding of the HR technology landscape, • Background selling compensation, HR, Business Intelligence/Analytics solutions, • Experience selling an AI-native or AI-augmented product, where the pitch itself has to explain how the AI works, not just what it does, • A track record of in-person, field-based selling: onsites, coffees, and events that build relationships beyond ZoomRole progression We're rebuilding onboarding with AI built in across every function, so new AEs ramp faster, with a ramped quota through your first year. • Within 2 months, you'll know the core of Syndi, understand Essentials and Decisions, the pay equity and compensation space, and the vocabulary our buyers use. You'll be leading discovery calls and core demos, and you'll have a territory plan., • Within 3–6 months, you'll be building pipeline across your territory through outbound, events, and in-person meetings, and leading sales efforts at large enterprise accounts with SE support., • Within 6 months, you'll be confident in your role and will provide input into other areas of the business (e.g. marketing & product) based on what you're hearing from prospects. Because we're creating a category, we need AE comfortable with ambiguity: testing new approaches, learning fast, and folding what works into your talk track. Expect high impact, true enterprise rigor, and a product you can be proud to sell. Why this job is exciting • Own the full sales cycle, from generating pipeline to close. When something wasn't built yet, or a client asked a question you couldn't answer, you figured it out instead of waiting for a team to do it for you, • You forecast accurately because you know your deals: you spot what's missing and work with your manager to close the gap, • You can run a confident product demo and tell the story behind it, and you know when to bring in a Solutions Engineer, • You have experience in outbound prospecting and generating leads in your territory, • You are proficient in Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach (or equivalent), and Gong. At Turing we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace and celebrate authenticity, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. For applicants from the European Union, please review Turing's GDPR notice here.

About the role: We are seeking an exceptional Manager, Product Applied Science to build and lead a team at the core of Garner's product. Our members rely on us to answer hard questions — Which doctor should I see? What will it cost? When should we reach out, and how? — and the quality of those answers is determined by the algorithms behind them. This is a hands-on management role. You are responsible for the overall technical direction of your squad, building alongside your team of Applied Scientists to solve some of the hardest problems at the company. This is not a dashboards or descriptive-analytics team. Your team owns production systems end-to-end: framing the problem, defining the objective function, choosing the right approach (ML, optimization, heuristics, expert systems, or a hybrid), shipping it, and improving it against real-world outcomes. The closest analog outside healthcare is leading a research pod at a top hedge fund. Where you will work: This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District). You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. What you will do: • Lead a team of 4-6 — hire, coach, and develop them, hold the bar on both rigor and speed, and help raise that bar across Applied Science, • Own the Population Health team and their outputs as a core responsibility, • Own your team's roadmap and delivery: what gets built, in what order, and whether it ships, • Set technical direction, and get in the weeds to do it — stay close enough to the code and the data to call the approach yourself, whether that's machine learning, optimization, a heuristic, or a simple rule, and set the standard for how your team makes that call, • Define the set of metrics needed to judge whether a solution is working, and validate solutions before they ship, • Put your own hands on the problems where your judgment matters most — the highest-stakes, least-defined work — and deliver the algorithmic step-changes that move metrics like total-cost-of-care savings, steerage, and member engagement, • Turn ambiguous business goals into a clear problem set alongside Research, Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders, and represent your team's work to senior leadership, • Set the quality bar: review your team's work with rigor, and define the metrics that decide whether a solution is working, • Build a deep understanding of the healthcare economy and Garner's place in it To make the role concrete, here are three problems on our near-term roadmap: • Provider tiering optimization. Build a tiering algorithm that jointly optimizes geographic access and total-cost-of-care savings across our doctor network. The objective function, constraints, and tradeoff surface are all open design questions., • AI primary care doctor. Fine-tune and productionize an LLM-based primary care experience on our website, including the evaluation harness, guardrails, and ongoing quality monitoring needed to ship a medical-adjacent product safely., • Member engagement model. Build an ML system that ingests claims data and in-app behavior to choose the right channel and moment for each touchpoint — SMS, push, phone, or email — to influence member behavior toward better-quality, lower-cost care. The ideal candidate has:, • 6+ years of industry experience as an Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, or equivalent; or 4+ years of industry experience with a relevant advanced degree, PhDs preferred, • Deep technical credibility, with the range and judgment to lead scientists who are experts in their own right, and the willingness to stay hands-on, • Strong judgment in choosing between statistical models, heuristics, optimization approaches, and simpler algorithmic methods depending on the problem, • Strong applied problem-solving skills, with the ability to define good metrics and then deliver solutions that improve them, • A bias toward action, quickly translating ideas into working prototypes to test approaches, • Strong communication skills, including at the executive level, with a track record of driving alignment across teams and functions, • A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedbackTechnologies we use:, • Python, SQL, AWS, Snowflake, pandas, XGBoost, PyTorch, HuggingFace, modern LLM tooling and eval frameworks. We pick tools based on the problem, not the resume — bring your judgment. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the team behind Garner's algorithmic systems — shaping how members find better care, and how applied science gets done at Garner, while staying close to the work yourself.
