Job DescriptionLead Millwork Drafter Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 Lead the Design Behind Exceptional Spaces Are you an experienced millwork professional who thrives on solving complex design challenges and bringing high-end spaces to life? We are seeking a Lead Millwork Drafter to play a critical role in delivering custom millwork, luxury retail environments, architectural interiors, and one-of-a-kind fixture programs. In this leadership position, you'll be more than a drafter. You'll serve as a technical expert, mentor, and key contributor to some of the most demanding and visually impressive projects in the industry. Working closely with designers, project managers, production teams, and CNC programmers, you'll help transform creative concepts into precise, production-ready solutions. What You'll Do • Create detailed shop drawings, fabrication documents, and production packages for custom millwork and architectural interior projects., • Lead technical detailing efforts on luxury retail, hospitality, commercial, and specialty fixture programs., • Mentor and support drafters and detailers, helping elevate overall team performance and technical capabilities., • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, completeness, and adherence to company standards., • Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, Estimators, CNC Programmers, and Manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle., • Participate in design reviews and technical planning sessions to ensure efficient project execution., • Drive drafting excellence by improving standards, workflows, and quality control processes., • Support CNC programming and manufacturing integration through accurate 3D modeling and documentation., • Solve complex challenges involving wood, metal, glass, stone, lighting, hardware, and specialty materials., • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce production risk, and streamline manufacturing processes.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications, • 10+ years of experience in millwork drafting, detailing, engineering, or a related technical role., • Extensive experience supporting luxury retail environments, custom millwork projects, or high-end architectural interiors., • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD., • Strong working knowledge of Microvellum and CNC manufacturing processes., • Deep understanding of millwork construction methods, fabrication techniques, materials, and hardware systems., • Ability to produce highly detailed shop drawings and production-ready documentation., • Experience coordinating multiple materials, including wood, metal, glass, stone, lighting, and specialty finishes., • Exceptional technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills., • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.Preferred Qualifications, • Experience within a custom millwork manufacturing environment., • Proven success mentoring teams and establishing drafting standards and best practices., • Familiarity with luxury retail brands, flagship stores, hospitality venues, and premium interior environments., • Understanding of manufacturing workflows, production planning, and CNC integration., • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive process and operational enhancements.Why Join Us? Typical start times are between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM, with flexibility based on project demands and workflow priorities.
