Job Description Job Description Staff RN Radiation Oncology Essential Job Functions • Triage common problems (dehydration, hypotension, poor nutrition, bleeding), • Assist in procedures (start IV, place foley catheter, assist physician during ENT and GYN exams, assist in brachytherapy suite) to include vitals, patient pain and/or distress monitoring, patient safety, assist with patient positioning, • Accurate documentation of vital signs, patient complaints, • Accurate and efficient medical record entry including quality metrics in the Aria Radiation Oncology her, • Post-procedure patient monitoring, • Facilitate patient transfer to UCC and/or hospital General Job Functions • Telephone duties include taking patient questions, calling normal lab or test results to patients, and optimization of patient schedule, • Patient education, in particular skin care, wound care, dietary restrictions, • Participation in departmental radiation safety training, • Participation in departmental quality assurance program (for both departmental accreditation and performance improvement), • Order supplies for exam area, holding area and brachytherapy suite Physical Job Requirements • Pushing and pulling, taking frequency and weight into consideration., • Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, taking frequency and weight into consideration., • Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account., • Physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place., • Dexterity of hands and fingers., • Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching, • Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking). Environmental Risks • Chemicals, Chemotherapy and Fumes, • Loud noises, • Vibration, • Extreme temperatures, • Confined spaces, • Allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen, • Magnetic fields, • Radiation, • Sharps, • Latex Blood-borne Pathogens • Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, non intact skin, or tissue specimens., • Contact with patients or patient specimens is possible, • Unplanned or unexpected exposure Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements: - • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, • One year experience in either Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology. Other specialty experience may be substituted, such as interventional Radiology or Gastroenterology., • In absence of experience in GYN Oncology, surgery or Medical Oncology, willingness to be trained to recognize common drug-radiation reactions, advocate for satisfactory pain relief and optimal mobility, • Excellent triage skills, • Excellent telephone skills, • Proficiency in multiple computer programs to include Athena EHR, Excel and Aria EHR (on site training will be offered) Travel – • Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed Pay Range: $40.38 - $50.48 Hourly The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
