Northwell Orthopedics is seeking a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician with a specialized interest in Spine care to join our newly established spine center in Manhattan, NY. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing interdisciplinary practice to deliver comprehensive, non-operative musculoskeletal and spine care. About the Opportunity: The Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, non-operative evaluation and management of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. This role serves as a front-line spine specialist, emphasizing conservative treatment, appropriate imaging utilization, care coordination, and timely referral to spine surgery or pain management when indicated. The position supports access optimization, value-based care initiatives, and high-quality patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurologic examinations, • Identify and appropriately triage spine red flags (e.g., cauda equina, myelopathy, infection, malignancy), • Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based, non-operative treatment plans, • Evaluate and manage patients with spine-related conditions, including:, • Acute and chronic neck and low back pain, • Cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, • Degenerative disc disease and spondylosis, • Spinal stenosis (non-operative) The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience: • MD or DO from an accredited medical school, • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, • Board Certified/Board Eligible in a Primary Care field Northwell Health is New York State’s largest health care provider and private employer, with 28 hospitals and 1,050 outpatient facilities.
