This is a 6-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist Location: Clifton NJ 07012 Pay Range: $30-$40per hour Duration: 6 months+ Schedule: Shifts Available (40 hrs per week) • Tues-Sat 7am-3:30pm, • Tues-Sat 11pm-7:30am, • Sun-Thurs 3pm-11:30pm Key Responsibilities: • Perform specimen handling, processing, and analysis following approved laboratory SOPs, • Conduct testing using validated laboratory procedures and instrumentation, • Review, verify, and release patient test results accurately, • Maintain complete and accurate records of all testing, QC, calibrations, and instrument maintenance, • Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed the same as patient specimens, • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines, • Document quality control activities, corrective actions, and procedural calibrations, • Identify test system issues, troubleshoot problems, and escalate concerns to senior technologists or supervisors, • Report STAT and critical results per departmental protocols, • Maintain reagent and test kit logs including received, opened, and expiration dates, • Participate in department training, procedure updates, and monthly educational meetings, • Support safety initiatives and regulatory inspections as needed, • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall department appearance, • Provide excellent customer support when interacting with clients or internal lab teams, • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements: • BS in Medical Technology preferred, OR BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, OR Associate degree in Laboratory Science / Medical Technology, OR qualified under 42 CFR 493.1433, • ASCP or AMT certification required/eligible, • Foreign-educated candidates must provide IERF credential evaluation, • U.S.-educated candidates must provide official original transcripts, • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, • High-complexity testing experience preferred, • Chemistry/Biology graduates must have 1 year of highly complex clinical lab experience, • National and state licensure as required Pride-Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
