Contract type: Direct-hire Start date: August 2025 Hourly pay range: $38.00-$46.00/hr. – depending on your level of experience JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Performs comprehensive assessment of patient’s clinical condition and psycho-social needs inclusive of caregiver needs during the perioperative period * Observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; takes appropriate action and documents * Demonstrates knowledge of drugs, actions, and side effects of medications administered. * Protects patient’s right to privacy * Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriate * Communicates clearly and concisely, assessment and reassessment of the patient in charting and with notification of surgeon and/or anesthesiologist as necessary; collaborates with all other health-care personnel and physicians in the delivery of coordinated patient care * Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriate * Assesses patient’s physical and emotional response(s) to treatment(s); observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications, takes appropriate action, and documents interventions and response to interventions * Educates patient/caregiver regarding the perioperative experience * Ensures patient readiness for surgery including, but not limited to, NPO status, medication administration, timeout protocol, and chart completeness * Implements the plan of care safely and effectively and provides a safe environment, including, but not limited to: * Positioning patient safely, padding bony prominence and ensuring respiratory and circulatory protection * Ensuring correct prepping and draping procedures * Ensuring asepsis during all procedures. Opens and presents sterile items to sterile field aseptically; ensures supplies are not expired * Accounting for all sponges, needles, and sharps, during and after the procedures and documenting appropriately * Demonstrates competence in preparing and cleaning O.R. suites before, between, and after cases * Accurately records, labels, and handles specimens * Can perform all duties of a circulating room nurse * Gives thorough report of patient’s intra-operative condition to PACU nurse * Collaborates with other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient turn-around time between each procedure REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES: * State-approved Registered Nurse (RN) required * Certification as an Operating Room Nurse (CNOR) preferred * 3-5 years of experience as a nurse providing perioperative care preferred * Previous experience in Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, or Invasive Vascular experience preferred * Exceptional knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, as well as sterile techniques preferred * Proficiency in recordkeeping and patient management systems, such as eHospital and PatientTrak preferred * Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required from American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or Pacific Medical Training approved * Current BLS Certification required from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
