Summary: The Porter will make sure that a mixed-use residential and commercial building in Flushing, Queens is maintained daily in clean and functioning order for its occupants. Overall duties will include removing debris, maintaining common areas, restocking bathrooms, and responding to all cleaning emergencies. Salary for position is $90,000 annually Responsibilities • Complete required QSAC orientation., • Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals., • Conduct random audits of medical binders to ensure compliance., • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, at all times., • Remain on call 24/7 via QSAC phone; provide telephone triage., • Respond to all emergent situations., • Provide trainings and in services for nurses., • Provide AMAP, CPI 2, enteral feeding trainings to AMAP staff., • Ensure certifications are up to date for all medical staff., • Conduct monthly staff meetings., • Administer PPD to staff and individuals., • Assist with policy development., • Attend all meetings, committee and specialty, and provide feedback to staff., • Consult with MDs to ensure optimal medical treatments are provided to individuals., • Work closely with clinicians to plan best course of treatment for maximum health of individuals., • Maintain individual/ family confidentiality., • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies., • Attendance and punctuality is essential. QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills. Job Summary QSAC is hiring a Manager for our OPWDD-funded Residential Program. This essential position is responsible for the general operation of the residence, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and facilitates the development of independence of the people we support. Responsibilities Residential Operations The Residential Manager will be results-driven and collaborative and is expected to recognize when a person we support is in crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate psychiatric and medical back-up services and supports. • Create schedules for Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisor staff at residence, • Review residential binders, including general, medical, personal allowance, etc., • Conduct periodic fire drills or other emergency drills, • Complete and submit injury reports for individuals, • Work with Quality Assurance team to ensure documentation and services are within OPWDD guidelines, • Oversee personal allowance for residents of the program, • Coordinate and shop for household items and groceries, • Supervise Habilitation Specialists/DSPs, Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisors, • Provide hands on supervision of people with autism including implementation of behavior goals and behavior support plans, • Participate in Life Plan meetings and the development of the Staff Action Plan, • Oversea and report to Coordinator or Director on any employee relations and staff disciplinary concerns, • Maintain correspondence with Nurse and Medical Coordinator to ensure appropriate medical appointments occur, • Ensure program goals are implanted by Habilitation Specialists/DSP staff, • Coordinate recreational activities including residential vacations, • Report issues regarding QSAC vehicles to supervisor, • Communicate with families, day programs, Care Managers, clinicians and other supports to ensure services are integrated and appropriate, • Maintain relationships with community and neighbors, • High School Diploma/GED required, • 1-2 years’ experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities required, • 1 year of OPWDD experience is highly preferred, • A minimum of 1 year supervisory work experience required, • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required for site visits is required, • 1-2 years’ experience driving large passenger vehicle required, • Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s) required, • Must be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals served, • Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb. items required, • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies is expected, • Ensure health, safety & welfare of people we support, • Punctuality and regular attendance is expected, • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management QSAC Benefits go beyond health and retirement.
