Who you are Metropolis is seeking a Product Manager to own critical payments initiatives as we scale our transaction platform across an expanding network of parking and mobility locations. As the engine of our platform, payments are a core pillar of our consumer and operator experience. You will work across teams to optimize the full consumer payments lifecycle—from first-time checkout and saved payment methods, to fraud prevention, authorization recovery, and payout infrastructure, as well as oversee enterprise billing and subscription initiatives. Your mission is to drive our payments product strategy and execution. You'll dig deep into user behavior, payment processor capabilities, and edge-case failure scenarios to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable transactions. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Support to build a resilient payments system that meets the needs of millions of consumers and hundreds of partners. You'll join a team focused on reimagining commerce in the physical world, and your immediate focus will be on expanding success rates and building smarter retry logic. We are looking for someone with experience in transaction platforms, fintech products, or e-commerce payments who can lead a structured approach to building for scale. You thrive in ambiguous problem spaces, think big about systems design, and aren't afraid to dig into error logs or merchant account documentation to solve problems quickly. What you'll do • Drive the strategic product vision for key payments features and platform capabilities that promote a remarkable user experience, deliver business results, and accrue value to the platform, • Own the payments roadmap, communicate and manage deadlines, and contribute to the vision of the broader product and infrastructure ecosystem, • Design clear product requirements and success metrics to align, drive, and measure cross-functional effort, • Identify, track, and solve for issues, bugs, and edge cases impacting payments performance or compliance, • Understand and decompose complex payment flows into manageable components, • Leverage data and build strong relationships with engineering, operations, finance, and customer support to lead development efforts, gather feedback, drive adoption, and measure success, • Analyze, define and report on key metrics, setting clear goals and KRs to attackWhat we're looking for, • 3+ years of product management experience, • Experience owning payments-related products with measurable business impact, • Strong user empathy and experience interacting with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, • Superior written and verbal communication skills, • Entrepreneurial drive and ability to thrive in open-ended environments, • Positive, open, and team-oriented approach to workWhile not required, these are a plus:, • Familiarity with payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Adyen), authorization flows, and PCI compliance, • Experience with fraud prevention, chargebacks, and retries, • Experience with third-party technical integrations Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience.
