American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/27/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 27, 2026, • Length: 12 weeks, • Hospital ICU setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population, • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3, • High volume of ventilators and arterial lines (A-lines), • Experience with titration of continuous infusions of sedation agents, pain medications, paralytic agents, and vasopressors required in this unit, • Agency RNs are not assigned CRRT patients unless competency on the Baxter PrisMax machine can be demonstrated, • Multidisciplinary morning rounds include intensivist, bedside RN, PharmD, RRT, OT/PT, dietitian, case manager, and wound care, • Bedside RN is responsible for patient transport (e.g., to CT), accompanied by a tech and RRT if patient is on a ventilator, • Night shift NPs serve as first call before the intensivist and handle central line/vascath/A-line placement, code attendance, ICU care issues, and ICU admissions from ETC, • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00, • Every other weekend required, • Floating may be required within scope of practice, including to a sister campus, • No on-call requirements, • EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR, • Local candidates are acceptedRequirements, • Active GA or compact RN license required, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, • Proficiency with Epic EMR required, • Experience with ventilator management and A-lines required, • Experience titrating continuous infusions of sedation agents, pain medications, paralytic agents, and vasopressors required, • Baxter PrisMax competency required to be assigned CRRT patientsAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Navy blue scrubs required, • RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment, • Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review, • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one), • Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a travel nurse, • No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
