OVERVIEW We are seeking a senior, highly connected Director of Luxury Timepieces and Retail Development with deep expertise in the luxury watch industry and a strong network across top-tier independent jewelers and luxury chain jewelers. This role is focused on accelerating growth in the U.S. luxury market by opening and elevating A-door and premium accounts, strategically developing key doors, and ensuring controlled distribution. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of placing prestige watches into elite domestic retail environments, upgrading doors into higher-tier assortments, and representing an iconic global watch brand with credibility, sophistication, and strategic vision. Exposure to luxury duty-free or travel retail is beneficial but not a primary focus. This is a highly strategic position responsible for driving luxury growth, door elevation, and long-term brand equity, including management and development of a sales team, working closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, and Operations teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identify, qualify, and open new luxury A-door accounts across key U.S. markets, including elite independent jewelers and flagship locations., • Expand and elevate presence within luxury chain jewelers, focusing on top-door, flagship, and high-ASP opportunities., • Strategically migrate accounts from entry-value placements to higher-value, tiered luxury assortments, supporting door segmentation, exclusivity, and long-term growth., • Build and execute a U.S. luxury expansion roadmap with clear milestones by region and retailer tier (East Coast, West Coast, major metros, resort destinations, flagship doors)., • Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to ensure brand positioning, pricing architecture, and assortments align with luxury and prestige retail expectations while protecting global price integrity., • Leverage senior-level industry relationships to accelerate door openings, secure premium placement, and build trust with high-touch luxury partners., • Represent the brand at key luxury watch and jewelry trade shows and industry events., • Lead negotiations with new and existing partners, ensuring optimal terms, premium product mix, elevated display execution, and high-visibility in-store placement., • Drive brand education, in-store activations, VIP events, and key selling moments within luxury independent and luxury chain jeweler environments., • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback., • Collaborate with Planning and Operations teams to forecast demand, support new door onboarding, and manage inventory flow aligned with sell-through and replenishment needs., • Ensure best-in-class in-store execution, branded display compliance, and alignment with luxury and chain jeweler merchandising standards., • Monitor sell-through performance across luxury and chain jeweler accounts and identify opportunities for reorders, exclusives, limited editions, and curated drops., • 10+ years of experience in luxury watch sales, distribution, and brand development, with significant experience working with luxury retailers and luxury chain jewelers., • Established relationships with senior decision-makers at top-tier independent jewelers, A-door accounts, and luxury chain jewelers., • Strong understanding of the luxury consumer, competitive watch landscape, and prestige retail standards., • Proven ability to open, develop, and scale high-end accounts while protecting brand equity and pricing integrity., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level relationship-management skills., • Proven experience managing and developing a sales team., • Experience with new door onboarding, merchandising execution, and sell-through optimization across multi-door luxury retail environments., • Willingness to travel 50%–70% domestically., • Proficiency in leveraging AI-driven tools for sales management, forecasting, pipeline development, and CRM., • Passion for watches and the storytelling required to build a premium brand presence., • Experience working with international or global luxury watch brands., • Familiarity with retail tier segmentation, top-door, flagship-door, and prestige placement strategies., • Limited exposure to duty-free or travel retail environments.
