Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrician Located in Closter, NJ & Alpine, NJ Pay: $20-$32 an hour Job Description The Journeyman Electrician performs commercial electrical work with a strong focus on multi-family apartment construction and service upgrades. This role installs and pulls electrical risers, manages service gear, troubleshoots systems, and supports tenant build-outs and renovations in both new construction and occupied environments. Responsibilities • Perform commercial electrical installation and service work in multi-family apartment buildings, including ground-up construction and renovations., • Install and pull feeders and risers, including conduit, wire, and bus systems, throughout multi-story structures., • Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical service equipment, panels, and distribution systems for apartment projects., • Run and bend conduit and install electrical wiring to support risers, services, and distribution systems., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in both occupied units and new construction environments., • Ensure all work is completed safely and in full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes., • Coordinate daily activities with other trades and manage workflow in active commercial construction environments., • Maintain job site organization, including material tracking, tool management, and adherence to safety standards., • Work across multiple floors, including mechanical rooms, electrical closets, and vertical chases, to complete riser and service work., • Lead and mentor small crews while also completing tasks independently as project needs require., • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and pulling wire and feeders as part of daily work. Essential Skills • Journeyman-level commercial electrical experience with a focus on multi-family apartment construction and service upgrades., • Proficiency in electrical work including conduit installation, conduit bending, wiring, and pulling wire and feeders., • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in electrical systems in both occupied and new construction environments., • Ability to install and pull feeders and risers using conduit, wire, and bus systems throughout multi-story structures., • Experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical service equipment, panels, and distribution systems., • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes and the ability to apply them in daily work., • Capability to coordinate with other trades and manage workflow on busy commercial construction sites., • Comfort working independently and leading small crews to complete project tasks efficiently., • Physical ability to perform commercial electrical work, including lifting, climbing, and pulling wire and feeders.
