The Car Rental Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and optimization of the car rental fleet. This role involves ensuring that the fleet is adequately sized, well-maintained, and efficiently utilized to meet customer demand while maximizing profitability. The Fleet Manager will work closely with the operations, sales, and maintenance teams to ensure that all vehicles are in optimal condition and available when needed. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Management: • Oversee the acquisition, distribution, and disposal of rental vehicles to ensure an optimal fleet size and composition., • Monitor fleet utilization rates to ensure vehicles are being effectively used and adjust fleet size or distribution as necessary., • Manage vehicle inventory, ensuring the right mix of vehicles is available to meet customer demand across all rental locations. Maintenance and Repair: • Coordinate with the maintenance team to develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all vehicles., • Ensure all vehicles are serviced regularly and meet safety and quality standards before being rented out., • Manage relationships with external repair shops and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance. Vehicle Procurement and Disposal: • Work with procurement teams to purchase new vehicles, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure vehicles meet company standards., • Oversee the de-fleeting process, ensuring vehicles are disposed of at the right time to maximize resale value., • Manage vehicle registrations, licensing, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Cost Management: • Develop and manage the fleet budget according to the car rental demand forecast,, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high service standards., • Monitor repair expenses, and other operating costs to identify areas for savings and efficiency improvements., • Implement strategies to reduce overall fleet costs, including negotiating with suppliers and service providers. Reporting and Analysis: • Maintain accurate records of all fleet activities, including maintenance, repairs, utilization, and costs., • Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, utilization, and costs for senior management., • Analyze fleet data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks. Compliance and Safety: • Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations and company standards., • Implement and enforce safety protocols for fleet operations and driver conduct., • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards to ensure fleet compliance. Customer Service: • Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure customer satisfaction with the rental fleet., • Address and resolve any customer complaints related to vehicle quality or availability., • Work to improve the overall customer experience by ensuring the availability of well-maintained and clean vehicles. Technology and Systems Management: • Implement and manage fleet management software to track vehicle locations, maintenance schedules, and utilization rates., • Utilize technology to streamline fleet operations and improve efficiency., • Stay informed about new technologies and innovations in fleet management. Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in fleet management, preferably in the car rental industry., • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and fleet management software., • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills., • Strong leadership and team management skills., • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively., • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments., • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in the car rental industry., • Certification in fleet management (e.g., NAFA Certified Automotive Fleet Manager)., • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to fleet operations. Compensation: • Competitive salary of $104,000, • Performance-based bonuses up to $20,000
