The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. A day in the life As a SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to identify and drive mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers, maintain their functionality. This is a mid-level, hands-on engineering role working directly alongside the VP of Technology. We are looking for someone who has shipped and owned production commerce systems, is comfortable in this architecture on day one, can troubleshoot whatever the business throws at technology, and uses AI coding tools as a daily practice rather than a novelty. AI is a multiplier here, not a substitute: you have years of writing code by hand, you read and reason about code you did not write, and you can debug Liquid, JavaScript, or a failing pipeline with the tools turned off. Key Responsibilities Storefront & Shopify Engineering • Own the Shopify Plus codebase: Liquid, theme architecture, Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, and the Admin GraphQL API., • Own the storefront deployment pipeline (GitHub Actions, blue/green theme deploys, settings sync) and its secrets, tokens, and access., • Act as the pull-request review gate for agency and contractor work; hold the bar on quality, security, and change control., • Build storefront features and fixes directly when it is faster to do in-house; scope and hand off larger builds to agency partners with clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
