Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW Barrel One Collective (B1C), the parent company of Harpoon is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Vermont Production team. The Brewer/Cellar/Forklift Operator will be responsible for many of the day-to-day activities necessary to make high-quality beer. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cellar Operations • Start-up and shut-down of facility processes, • CIP, CUP, and sanitizing of fermenters and BB tanks, lines, and yeast brinks, • Performing gravity reads and dry hopping of fermenters; accurate documentation, • Yeast cell counts and pitching, • Racking kegs, • Daily operation of filtration equipment and procedures, • Cleaning and sanitizing filtration equipment and lines, • Responsible for all aspects of wort production and related processes, • Start-up and shut-down of facility processes, • Milling and hop/antifoam/spice additions, • Obtaining samples needed for the lab, • Maintaining turbidity, CO2, and O2 levels within product specifications, • Performing dilution and flavor checks, • Handling and disposition of materials and tracking warehouse inventory, • Loading and unloading materials from trailers, • Moving pallets or materials on pallets/crates around the facility, • Stacking pallets or materials in the correct manner and following inventory control instructions, • Checking to ensure loads are secure, • Building pallets when necessary, • Basic understanding of forklift functionality, • Ability to load bay and maneuver in/out of cooler/warehouse, • Minimum of 2 years experience in brewing/manufacturing, • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities, • Flexibility to work varied shifts is key – shifts vary, • Proper use of PPE, • Mechanical aptitude, • Attention to detail is required for this role, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at shoulder height, • Prolonged standing, • Ability to work over, under, and around potentially dangerous/moving machinery in small spaces, • Ability to withstand various temperatures and weather conditions Opportunity to be an integral part of a professional production team working in a fast-paced and challenging setting.
