Job DescriptionSalary: $62,500-$65,000/year DOE Job Title: Construction Project Manager Department: Construction Management Reports To: Executive Director FLSA Status: Full-Time (Exempt) Position Summary The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Habitat home construction from pre-construction planning through completion and homeowner turnover. This position will also include rehabs on homes as needed. This position ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable building codes and City of Lubbock requirements. The Construction Manager supervises subcontractors and onsite volunteers, coordinates construction scheduling, and serves as a key point of contact for inspections, permitting, and homeowner walkthroughs. This role also participates in organizational communication and accountability by attending weekly staff meetings, monthly construction committee meetings, and bimonthly board meetings to report on construction progress and project phases. Construction Oversight & Project Management • Manage daily construction operations for Habitat home builds, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and site supervision, • Ensure construction projects stay on schedule and meet Habitat quality standards, • Track construction phases and provide accurate updates on progress, timelines, and needs, • Maintain organized construction documentation including plans, schedules, inspection records, and job site notes, • Oversee special construction events such as Blitz build, MLK Day and help in the preparation of events and planning as well as day of execution, • Collaborate with LISD and TTU on various projects and oversee them as required which includes the planning and execution of moving a house from LISD to Lubbock Habitat neighborhood and partnering with Huckabee College of Architecture on upcoming Memorial Build project Volunteer & Subcontractor Management • Coordinate and supervise volunteers on active build sites, ensuring tasks are clearly assigned and safely executed, • Recruit, schedule, and manage subcontractors to complete required phases of construction, • Ensure subcontractors meet performance expectations, deadlines, and workmanship standards, • Maintain a positive, mission-driven work environment that supports volunteers and partner families, • Collect all required information on volunteers and keep track in coordination with director of operations to ensure reporting is turned in as required to Habitat Intl., • Assist and coordinate with Director of Operations and Executive Director on current City of Lubbock project which will include acquiring and coordinating all subs to get houses finished with our timeline for 2026 Permits, Inspections & City Compliance • Oversee all requirements with the City of Lubbock related to permits, inspections, and code compliance, • Coordinate all required inspections and ensure homes pass each phase, • Maintain inspection schedules and documentation for each project, • Serve as the primary construction contact for city inspectors and permit offices Homeowner Walkthroughs & Turnover • Schedule and lead walkthroughs with new homeowners at appropriate stages of the construction process, • Ensure homeowners understand home features, maintenance expectations, and key construction milestones, which can help implement guides or how-to guides as needed, • Coordinate punch lists and final completion items prior to closing/turnover Administrative & Reporting • Attend and participate in:, • Weekly staff meetings, • Monthly construction committee meetings, • Bimonthly board meetings, • Provide clear and consistent reporting on construction status, phase completion, challenges, and upcoming needs., • Communicate regularly with leadership regarding timelines, site needs, and resource planning, • Manage part-time construction assistant and all interns, • Coordinate with director of operations on reports for grants, project updates and other administrative tasks as required, • Assist with any special projects needed at ReStore or for special events, such as operating machinery at venue, doing DIY days at ReStore or building materials needed Safety & Site Standards • Ensure job sites follow Habitat safety standards and OSHA best practices, • Maintain clean, organized, and secure construction site, • Ensure proper use of tools and PPE for volunteers, subcontractors, and staff Work Schedule This is a full-time position. The schedule is flexible based on the candidates preference: • MondayFriday, or Qualifications • Experience in residential construction management, site supervision, or related construction leadership, • Strong working knowledge of building processes, construction sequencing, and job site safety, • Ability to manage subcontractors, volunteers, and multiple project schedules, • Comfortable coordinating inspections, permits, and compliance requirements, • Strong communication skills and ability to represent Habitat professionally with city officials, volunteers, and homeowners, • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with local permitting and inspection processes in the City of Lubbock, • Experience working with volunteer-driven construction environments Physical Requirements • Ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform site inspections regularly Compensation & Benefits Lubbock Habitat for Humanity offers a strong benefits package, including: • 100% employer-paid benefits, • Paid holidays, • Comprehensive paid time off (PTO) package, • Company issued vehicle for work use, • Mission-driven work environment with meaningful community impact
