POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for providing support to the Research Department and Department manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES • Assumes responsibility for the completion of assigned Research functions., • Prepares correspondence and responds to any requests, emails, and phone calls., • Assists with subpoenas, IRS requests, etc., • Assists with Escheatment duties., • Assists with banking center questions., • Retrieves and completes statement requests., • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with local banks and internal departments., • Answers questions and resolves requests or problems promptly and courteously., • Informs contacts of Banks policies and procedures, • Maintains the Bank’s professional reputation., • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Bank personnel and with management., • Assist related departments as required., • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems., • Completes required reports and related documents., • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned., • Stays informed of changes in Research policies, procedures, and requirements., • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained., • Completes special projects as assigned., • Assists with Department administration and supervision as required. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: General banking knowledge and banking operations knowledge are preferred. Operational knowledge, as specifically related to the department, is preferred. Good knowledge and working ability of Microsoft office products, especially Excel and Word. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years of bank operations is required, and experience with software used within the department is preferred. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent organization skills, with ability to handle multiple projects and duties. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to provide sound so. Ability to follow established policies and procedures and direct others to do so. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly efficient in managing projects and meeting deadlines. Regular attendance and the ability and willingness to work extended hours. Detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION Walking: No special requirements. Lifting: Use of upper body and back muscles to lift objects. Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery. Physical Strength: Medium work; exerts up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs frequently. MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple variables. Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic math skills Language Ability: Ability to read and understand policy and procedure manuals, instructions, correspondence, and training materials. Ability to document policies and procedures, instructions, and training materials. Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally with management, employees, and other departments. Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. 40 hours per week.
