If you thrive in a dynamic, growth-minded environment where your contribution directly matters and you’ll work alongside skilled professionals focused on achieving business-driven legal solutions, Mayer is where you can make an impact.Responsibilities • Represent clients involved in various commercial transportation accidents, workplace injuries, breach of contract, premises liability, etc., • Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating primarily in commercial trucking transportation as well as other industries, • Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances, • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings, • Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to transportation and personal injury law, • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations, • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records, • Work with expert witnesses on cases, • Conduct site/scene inspections Experience, • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, • Admission to the State Bar of Texas, • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate litigation/insurance defense, • Strong research and writing skills, • Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Strong organizational and time management skills, • Willingness to travel throughout the Permian Basin area, • Comfortable handling a case load of 20-30 cases, • Experience managing cases from start to finish Benefits, • Competitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annually, • Full suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm, • 10 company holidays + 4 early release days, • Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home), • 401k + firm match based on previous year revenue.
