We are seeking an experienced Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in New York. This 20-day opportunity begins Jan 2, 2026, with Monday-Friday shifts (four shifts per week), 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The role focuses on ambulatory breast surgical oncology, providing comprehensive perioperative care within a dynamic clinical environment. Job Details • Location: New York, • Start Date: Jan 2, 2026, • LOA: 20 days, • Provider Type Needed: Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner, • Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage health in pre-, intra-, and post-operative settings for breast surgical oncology patients, • Develop and implement treatment plans and provide health counseling, • Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as indicated, • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty scope, • Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions when appropriate, • Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling, • Conduct debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures, • Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses, • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes, • Conduct anoscopy as indicated, • Harvest and place skin grafts, • Participate in volume replacement or auto-transfusion techniques as appropriate, • Perform field infiltration of anesthetic solutions, • Remove chest tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, drains, and surgical staples, • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license required, • Board certifications accepted: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP), • Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), • Must have completed NP/PA Core and Surgical Core training, • Strong compensation, • Travel-related expenses covered, • A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided #LI-SC1
