This role plays a critical part in protecting project margins, preventing rework, and upholding our standard of pre-construction excellence in the field. This position combines advanced layout/survey responsibilities with structured, checklist-driven pre-pour quality control. You will work directly with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and VDC teams to confirm that formwork, reinforcement, embeds, elevations, slopes, and dimensions meet contract documents and internal QC standards prior to every pour. Learn more at bandbconcrete.com Key Responsibilities Contract Document Control\n • Review latest drawings, specifications, RFIs, sketches, and approved submittals prior to layout and pre-pour inspections.\n, • Confirm field work is based on current, approved contract documents.\n, • Identify high-risk scope items such as anchor bolts, embeds, congested reinforcement, tight tolerances, slopes, and complex geometry.\n, • Establish and maintain site control including benchmarks, datums, baselines, gridlines, and secondary control points.\n, • Coordinate survey control responsibilities with GC survey teams when required.\n, • Perform layout for:\n, • Footings, pile caps, grade beams, foundations, walls, and columns\n, • Slab-on-grade edges, depressions, pads, and curbs\n, • Elevated slabs, openings, blockouts, and penetrations\n, • Anchor bolts, embeds, sleeves, inserts, and cast-ins\n, • Provide clear field references including offsets, witness marks, control tags, TOC/BOC elevation marks, slope arrows, and edge lines.\n, • Reverify layout after formwork, rebar, or embeds are installed — especially after trade coordination or field changes.\nPre-Pour Quality Control (QC) Leadership\n, • Own and enforce the pre-pour checklist process and quality hold points.\n, • Verify all work is compliant with project documents and tolerances before concrete placement.\n, • Inspect and verify:\n, • Formwork alignment, dimensions, bracing, bulkheads, and cleanliness\n, • Reinforcement size, spacing, laps, cover, dowels, and support\n, • Embeds, anchor bolts, sleeves, and cast-ins (location, elevation, plumbness, protection)\n, • Elevations, slopes, slab depressions, ramps, and drainage pitch\n, • Withhold pre-pour approval when checklist items are incomplete or out of tolerance and escalate issues to Superintendent/PM for documented resolution.\nPost-Pour Verification & Documentation\n, • Perform elevation checks and post-pour verification as required.\n, • Document deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.\n, • Maintain survey notes, control logs, pre-pour photos, checklist signoffs, and daily QC summaries.\nContinuous Improvement\n, • Track recurring layout/QC issues and recommend process improvements.\n, • Participate in lessons learned and standardization efforts.\n, • Authorized to withhold pre-pour approval until work complies with contract documents and internal QC standards.\n, • Accountable for preventing:\n, • Layout-related rework\n, • Mislocated embeds, sleeves, and penetrations\n, • Elevation and slope errors\n, • 3–7+ years of experience in commercial concrete construction with hands-on layout experience.\n, • Strong working knowledge of formwork, reinforcement, embeds, and cast-in-place concrete practices.\n, • Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings and specifications.\n, • Proficiency with robotic total station layout workflows and field survey best practices.\n, • Strong understanding of tolerances and checklist-driven quality control.\n, • Highly organized with the ability to maintain standards in a fast-paced field environment.\n, • Experience on institutional or municipal projects with formal QA/QC requirements.\n, • Experience coordinating with Special Inspectors and Owner/Engineer representatives.\n, • Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.\n, • Experience with Leica or Trimble robotic total station systems.\n, • Robotic total station and data collector (Leica or Trimble preferred)\n, • CAD/BIM-derived point workflows (support level)\n, • Bluebeam\n, • Company-Sponsored Medical Insurance\n, • Paid Time Off (Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Days)\n, • Weekly Pay Cycle\n, • Performance Bonuses\n, • Tech Package – Smartphone or Tablet\n, • Paid Training and Certifications\n, • Full-Time\n, • Monday – Friday\n, • Based out of Headquarters in Nanuet, NY\n, • Field-based role working on active construction sites throughout the Hudson Valley and Tri-State region\n, • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions\n #FC25
