Engineering Manager - Non Human Identity

Omada Identity is a leading vendor of cloud‑based Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions. Our platform helps enterprises ensure that the right people – and the right non‑human identities – have the right access to the right resources, at the right time. Alicante, Spain – Hybrid, Permanent About The Team And The Mission You will join a newly established Feature Team being set up to own Omada's Non‑Human Identity (NHI) product line. NHIs – agentic AI identities, machine identities, service accounts, and workloads – now outnumber humans 50:1 in modern enterprises and are growing ~44% per year. Governing them is becoming a deal‑blocker in IGA RFPs, and Omada has a working prototype that's already in customer hands. Your mission is to take that prototype to production‑grade: secure, scalable, multi‑tenant, and CI/CD‑managed. You won't be starting from zero – in the initial phase an experienced internal team (the M0 team) delivers the first milestone while your new NHI team is being staffed. Ownership then bridges from the M0 team to your team, which by general availability (GA) owns the entire NHI scope – code, roadmap, and customer commitments – long‑term. We work in a fully agentic SDLC. AI‑assisted development is the team’s default way of working, end to end. About The Role As the Engineering Manager for the new team, you will lead the team building Omada's NHI product. You will join early – recruiting the team alongside us, partnering with the M0 team to ship M0 (the first secure release for customer and prospect trials) and taking the team through to long‑term ownership of NHI. You’ll have 5‑10 direct reports once the team is fully staffed. EMs at Omada typically run two teams over time, so this can grow to as many as 20 reports if a second team comes your way. A dedicated Scrum Master is also available if you see value in one for your team. You partner with the team’s Product Owner and with the M0 team’s Engineering Manager and Product Owners during the handover phase. You report directly to Omada’s CTO. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will shape the team’s working practices, set the technical standards, and remove blockers – not write production code day‑to‑day, but stay close enough to the work to make good architectural and trade‑off decisions. What You’ll Do Recruit and onboard the engineering team – partnering with Talent Acquisition to hire senior, mid‑level, and junior Full‑Stack Engineers. The Product Owner is hired in parallel through Omada’s Product organization. Establish the team’s operating cadence – sprints, planning, retros, code review standards, definition of done. Partner with the M0 team’s leadership during the bridge phase – co‑owning the M0 milestone delivery and managing the gradual handover of NHI scope to your team through M1. Own delivery against the M1 milestone (general availability) – a production‑ready NHI service for production environments, with hardened auth, multi‑tenancy on the near‑term roadmap, and the five governance deliverables (connectors, ownership workflows, lifecycle, certification, risk signals). Set the technical direction in partnership with the team – cloud‑native architecture, multi‑tenant patterns, CI/CD maturity, observability, and an agentic SDLC discipline that leverages AI‑assisted development responsibly. Coach and develop the engineers – career growth, performance management, technical mentoring at the level expected of a senior team. Represent the team across Omada – to product leadership, sales (the team unblocks an active pipeline), customer‑facing teams, and the wider engineering organization. What You Bring Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading cloud‑native Saa S product teams of 5‑10 engineers, including hands‑on responsibility for hiring. A strong technical background – you’ve been a senior engineer, and you can read code, weigh architectural trade‑offs, and earn the respect of senior engineers. Direct experience shipping production multi‑tenant cloud‑native software, including what it takes to harden it for production. Track record building a team from scratch or near‑scratch, including hiring while delivering. You understand the trade‑offs and you’ve navigated them before. Experience with modern CI/CD, observability, and SRE practices. You expect rollback, canary, SLOs, and meaningful alerting to be in place. Hands‑on experience working in or leading a team that uses agentic development (AI‑assisted coding, AI agents in the SDLC). You understand both the productivity gains and the discipline required to keep code quality high (review gates, test coverage, drift control). Excellent written and spoken English. Right to work in Spain and based within commuting distance of our Alicante office (no relocation required). Nice to have Identity Governance, IAM, or security domain experience. Experience with the specific challenges of governing non‑human identities, service accounts, or AI agent identities. Background working in or alongside teams subject to enterprise security audit, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar. Experience leading a team through a bridge or handover transition. What We Offer A foundational role on a brand‑new team owning a brand‑new product line, with high visibility across the company. A hybrid working setup based at our Alicante (ALC) office, with at least three days per week on‑site. A modern engineering environment – cloud‑native, multi‑tenant, with intentional adoption of AI‑assisted development. Direct partnership with the M0 team during the bridge phase, then full ownership of NHI long‑term. Base salary in the range of €70,000–€80,000 gross per year, paid monthly, depending on experience. A performance bonus of 10% of base salary, paid annually based on company‑wide performance. 23 days of annual leave per year, plus public holidays. A monthly benefits package (around €235 /month): private health insurance (DKV), the Cobee / Pluxee flexible‑benefits platform, an internet allowance, and a food & transport allowance.
